I've decided to turn things up a notch and I'm giving the keto diet a try. I just finished my first week on DP's plan. It was kinda rough because of headaches and lack of energy in the gym but i'm confident it will get easier. I plan of running the diet for 12-16 weeks depending on the results.

I was on a low carbs diet and my fat loss as pretty much stalled and the switch to keto seems like a good idea. The only issue I have with this diet is that I have to give up running and keep my hr low while doing cardio. I was wondering though, would it be that bad if I do a quick run (10k) once a week in order to keep some of the progress i've done over the last months, lets say the day after my refeed? Or is there any ways of keeping a limited amount of high intensity cardio while being on keto?

Any help would be appreciated

If you did the run after your refeed meal that would be ok...the next day you are already back into ketosis so not a good idea to run.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll give that a shot. Hopefully, it will also help me to not go too crazy on the refeed meal.

Just curious - is it just a cheat meal or a cheat day in which all meals for the day can have normal/high carbs?

It will be a single sitting, at lunch. I'll try Dave Ruel's Beef & Spinach Lasagna and then some ice cream for desert. The idea is to refill your glycogen store so as per Dave Palumbo, 500 cal worth of carbs should do the trick. I can't wait to see how I'll feel for the run afterward. Probably like crap...

Cheat meal...unless you are under 4-5% BF then you can increase to two maybe three meals.
