View Full Version : continue blasting or cruise for a while?

I need some advice. I am on 500mg Sustanon per week and have been for 5 weeks (of a planned 12) and I recently injured my bicep tendon. This injury makes just about any pulling motion difficult so no back or bicep exercises - even picking up a weight causes discomfort. My physiotherapist figures I need two weeks off to rest and rehabilitate, but it may take a bit longer! Perhaps a month. Until I stop straining it, she can't really tell.

So...do I stay on the Sust @ 500mg or should I cut back to a cruise dosage (say 200mg per week) for the duration of this rehab period and just do a lot of cardio?

I really need to get this healed so continuing the weight lifting is not really an option. Advice, as always, will be appreciated.

I would stop. The lost gains and recovery time is nothing compared to an injury that never had a chance to heal. Use the 2-3 weeks off to run a PCT and then hit it again from the start of your planned cycle.

I would count on more than two weeks off.

Yeah, I'm thinking that way as well. I am going to take a month off and try to get the whole thing healed.

See where I am around the end of August. Thanks.

definitely agree with this, if it truly is a rupture.....Theres a couple ways to look at it...The sust will stay in your system for a few weeks anyways, you could drop the dose to 1 shot per 7-10 days if using sust, as anabolics have healing properties anyway.....Then get back on the horse...
Or stop everything, then do a pct 3 weeks after last shot, start hcg now and then do pct......Its up to you...No sense jumping direct into pct, doesnt make sense, If you do that, and then start cycling again 3 weeks later you will be a hormonal roller coaster.....Either stay on low dose as above, and heal and just run cycle longer like 16-20 weeks, as your doses are very reasonable anyway...(is what i would do personally), or go off, and do a proper pct and then back on later......BUT IMO , do not do a 2-3 week pct now and then back on, more bad than good IMO....I tried it before and i didnt like the end result personally...

First off you need to diagnose the issue and then decide on treatment...your Physio no offense will not be able to do that...you need to to go for an Ultrasound to make sure there is no tear or partial tear...that will require a referral from your GP...get it ASAP...if it is torn which it does sound like it is (i've torn both biceps tendons) thne you have a limited window to repair it before the tendon loses elasticity and cannot be repaired...about 3-4 weeks. As for the gear you can keep it at 500mg weekly until you get full diagnoses...then if you need surgery go off or run HRT dosage.
DONT wait get the ultrsound ASAP!

OK, I'll stay the gear course until I get the word from the Doc. I made an appointment for next Monday; hopefully the Ultra S will follow quickly. So I guess it's wait and see.

Thanks everyone for the help and advice.

AAS will not affect anesthetic being used...you are talking two different action here.

Hey Prae, does aas affect the blood clotting ability of the body during surgery, or does it give unnecessary risk for a blood clot to occur somewhere in the body after surgery...Ive been curious about this....

Hi IW yes aas do increase prothrombin time (clotting time) as well as the amount of total blood volume...so its a double edged sword...more bleeding because there is much more blood and the decreased ability to clot quickly.
Its not that big of an issue even if you are on it just makes things a bit more messy....for the surgeon. I dont see any reason why it would cause a blood clot after surgery no.

Well, good news, I guess. Saw the Doctor. No need for surgery. I have a pulled bicep tendon (and some tendonitis) that will require 4 to 6 weeks of rest, rehab exercises, etc. He said I could carefully continue to work out but that would probably make the process twice as long which I obviously don't want. I also have a little problem with my shoulder, so I am going to work on that as well. I am going to cut back to 200mg per week, concentrate on my legs (which need work) and do a bit more cardio, and get the bicep and shoulder back into lifting shape. Sound like a plan?

Great news....Praes thoughts are dead on, I am just a bit of a conservative, and cheap...lol, so personally i would cut back as well.......Just run a longer course, no yo-yo effect going off, and trying to do pct etc....
