As i'm right handed, I have a tendency to overdevelop on my strong side (R) vs my L. I prefer free weights but do use a couple machines for mil. press and lat pull down. What would you recommed to help even out ? I've also read about the mind, muscle connection and wondering your thoughts / tips if this could help. Thx.

Try doing more reps on your other hand. Sometimes, an overdeveloped arm will lead to an imbalance in your lower body too as there is a tendency of lifting more weights with your right hand, your lower-right body will overdevelop too.

If you stick to free weights and compound movements your imbalances will even out over time...time as in years ie 4-7 years of correct intense training...the body itself will balance things to prevent injury but this requires proper form and a stimulus strong enough to force the body to adapt...that means heavy weights which takes time to build enough strength to lift...hence the time frame.
The mind muscle connection is just another term for the ability to focus the mind and recruit the maximum amount of intensity while training a specific body part...think of a sprinter running the 100m dash....during that 10 seconds he is not thinking about moving one leg in front of the other and then moving his arms up and down etc...its an instinct that takes over as the body and mind sort of meld into one...time kind of slows down and you enter a higher state...this is true for most elite athletes and takes many many years to develop....as in BB patience is a virtue...what you are looking to achieve will take patience, time , and determination along with alot of sweat and pain...most people dont like the sound of that and thats why they never reach that higher state.

Get an MP3 player and load up on heavy metal music...when you walk into the gym all Iphones, Blackberries etc are left in the locker...the ear phones go on, no more chit chatting...its time for business!!!
