Hi P.
Hoping you can shed some light. I have searched everything I can think of and I have been to my GP.
Some background. Started latest cycle June 1. Test only. Basically doing 500/wk but first two weeks bumped with 1000 so first shot was 500. Within a day I developed prostatitis-like symptoms (pain in rectum, burning sensation waking me in the night, etc) I am prone to this and have had it in the past. Had it for several months at the end of my last cycle but usually just comes and goes once or twice a year and always alleviated with Cipro.
Doc put me on Cipro for two weeks and that ended this past Tuesday. A lot of the symptoms - the burning and achy feeling are gone but I'm left with a very uncomfortable sensation when I sit. Feels like I'm sitting on a golf ball and the perineum and anus are tender and sore - feel kinda swollen (sorry to have to be so graphic). I have also been using Saw Palmetto Complex and I tried a couple doses of Arimidex and one dose of 20 mg Nolva just to see if it is Estrogen but nothing seems to help.
Just prior to this starting I was doing heavy deads (last workout before the occurrence) two days before this started and, as I said, coincidentally with the start of the cycle.
Doc is planning to send me to Urologist and also to get scoped but don't have appointments yet. So my basic question is could this be juice related or is it just a coincidence. Have you ever experienced this or heard of others who have.
Any insight you can give would be greatly appreciated. My workouts are suffering and I feel like I'm wasting this cycle cause after a heavy workout I feel a lot worse. By the way doesn't seem to be hemorrhoids either cause I have prescription suppositories and they aren't helping either.

Yes, it can cause Prostatitis. Test will convert to DHT and depending how sensitive you are or how old you are, it can have effects on your prostate. 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors. Finasteride-Proscar and dutasteride-Avodart block the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone.
Seems worse than bitch tits to me.
If that was happening to me, I think I would quit juice altogether or at least stick a golf ball up my ass so I had a reason to feel like I had a golf ball up my ass.
In all seriousness, that sounds quite horrible and I hope you find a solution.

Thanks DnA. I thought of that but I also checked out other websites, one specifically was a forum for Proscar/Finasteride users some of whom reported getting prostatitis from it. Another weird thing is that last year I was on Test/Tren, then Test Deca - no problems. Only when I switched to Test only to finish did I start having the problems but the Cipro cleared right up. I guess that confirms what I already knew to be the case. Which of the 5 ARI's are best for this? I've never had to use one before.

Bam. Thanks. That kind of made me smile. But, yeah. It really sucks and I am totally considering dumping this cycle altogether but I've got six weeks in...

I would really appreciate hearing from anybody who has actually experienced this to get input on what worked or worked better.
Thanks guys. I really do appreciate the input. This is really a pain in the ass - literally.

i had similar problems. i dont believe it had anything to do with juice. it was definitely aggravated by stimulants like caffeine/ephedrine/redbull etc. nothing that was prescribed for me was of much help. my symptoms were not nearly as bad as what you describe but were almost entirely related to having to piss non stop, waking me up at nite etc. i went for the scope and all that, it is ****ing dreadful im not going to lie. they said they saw nothing of concern. basically my symptoms cleared up for the most part but i still piss more than average i would say and still cant get 8hrs sleep (im a relatively young guy) without having to go to the can. as dumb as it sounds cutting way back on my fluid intake especially for the second half of the day made all the difference in the world for me at least.
good luck, its rather irritating i know! hope you find a solution

Thanks alot guys for taking this seiously. I was almost afraid to post cause it is a wierd situation and the possibility for jokes are endless LOL
Anyway, most of the normal usual prostate-related problemsseem to have cleared up but it alwys seems to be worse the day after a shot. But could also be the workouts-straining, etc. Could also be hemorrhoids but been on suppositories for the last six weeks and they dont seem to be getting rid of the problem. This has got me all f'd up cause i cant figure out whats going on. It a tually seems to be a bit better today. Maybe some lightnat the end of the tunnel? So do you think it would be worth trying Finasteride? What dose? How long?

Pain the rectum sounds like Protitis only a Gastroenterologist will be able to tell you for sure. Nobody on here is a GP and should not guess as to what you should take. I can tell you though if you do have Protitis of some sort, then Test will agitate it more, and make it flare up more.

Actually it is unproven that DHT causes any type of Prostatitis....of which there are four kinds two of which are bacterial in nature..ie infection. It has been show that DHT and testosterone are required for growth of the prostate in the early years but once testosterone and DHT saturation of the prostate occurs then more DHT ie by injecting exogenous testosterone and coversion to DHT does NOT cause an increase in testosterone or DHT levels within the Prostate itself. If one has an existing BPH condition then DHT may aggravate it but will not cause it to develop.

Thanks alot guys. All the info is very helpful. Been back to Doc and I am back on antibiotics - Floxin this time. I'm less and less convinced it is prostate related as I don't have any of the typical burning, difficulty urinating, etc. symptoms. It is just this nagging pain and discomfort and feeling of swelling deep in rectum. Have scope session booked. We'll see.

Sounds like what I may have suggested, Protitis/Colitis, possibly one of those etc

No, not proctitis as the same drugs and ointments I have been taking for prostatitis and hemorrhoids would rectify that. Colitis - don't know. Still waiting on the colonoscopy and the eurologist.
The golf ball seems to be getting smaller but the area is still very uncomfortable. I am leaning towards either bad hemorrhoids or fissure or combination of both. The only weird thing is the feeling of swelling in the perineum.
Another cause that I came across is pelvic hernia??? It did start about two or three days after a heavy deadlift session.
The biggest dilemma now is do I stay "on" and reduce dose and ride this out or get off completely. I may ride it out until I see the two specialists and see what they come up with before I decide. I am currently cutting dose to 250/wk.
Aside from a slipped disc a few years back, this is probably the worst I have ever felt. Workouts suck cause I'm afraid to strain and I always seem to feel worse a couple days after a workout so I am cutting workouts for now too to see if it helps.
Anyone who has ever had anything similar please chime in and give your .02. I am not asking for diagnosis as that is obviously left tot he Dr's but just personal experiences and what helped.
Thanks

Well I guess the last thing you would need would be the flu right now with the runs lol I just got over it, nasty.

Just a quick update for any of you who are interested. So I have been to two specialists - proctologist and urologist. Proctologist put me on nitroglycerine ointment to try to help heal the roids (not the good roids we all like - the bad ones that hurt) and the fissure. The urologist has put me on a new antibiotic to try to deal with the prostatitis. The good news is the golf ball is now pretty much gone. I am scheduled for surgery in October unless the Nitro works. I have pretty much decided to go off my cycle for now until this works itself out. Thanks for your input and support. It is just very disappointing that I have lost much of my hard earned gains cause I can't train as heavy as I would like to. I am constantly worried about straining. I visited NYC last week on holiday and the first couple days were excruciating with all the walking around and stuff. Anyway, enough of the whining.
