I tried to buy syringes and needles today from a Zellers pharmacy, she asked what they were for, and I told her "testosterone replacement therapy" so she started asking me questions like my name, address, phone number and employer. WHY?

........ oh yeah then wouldn't sell them either.

Is there some sort of privilege between customer, and pharmacist?

As far as I know they are not a controlled substance so she has no right to ask you why you need them or any personal information about you either. Next time tell her you like to play darts with them.

Get them at costco, they are cheaper there anyway.

You probably can ake a formal complain and have he license threatened.

That is not just inappropriate but if she called your employee that would be breach of confidentiality.

I would just give the Pizza Pizaa #: 967 1111

I"ve been told that they have the right to refuse services if they have doubts about your safety...

A pharmacist refused to sell me syringe. I told him it's for b12 and he didn't believe. So I said: Ok I'm gonna reuse my old syringes, get an infection and complaint at the hospital that the pharmacist refused to give it to me, even if no prescription is needed... We'll see who will win on this one.

And then, he asked his partner to serve me!

Kind of a big hassle. I order online since then.

Order online. Pharmacy prices are crazy and a hassle. The first time I got my HRT meds from the pharmacy I was told that I could not purchase a whole box. They said they were only allowed to sell me the exact number I needed for the amount of medication they gave me. I have not checked costco pricing. But would like to know if #8 was not so tight lipped about his sources.

^^ what are you asking? I got mine at medical mart, a box of 100 with extra 18 guages for drawing. The Pharm grade delatestryl is like trying to fit 10 lbs of shit in a 5lb bag when drawing with a 25g needle, so i need to use the 18's to literally save myself 20 minutes of filling one shot lol.

Medical mart has good prices, but Im pretty sure my roommate goes to costco and gets a slightly better deal. I think the only personal info they asked me was my postal code at medical mart. I could care less.

I'm a pharmacist myself and that's absolutely ridiculous. She has no right to ask you that info and if she called your employer that's a breach of confidentiality and can get her slapped on the wrist pretty good. It's one thing if you leave your work # to contact for patient care (ie: Call if there's a problem with a drug interaction, dr faxed change in meds, etc) but not to say so and so is buying syringes. They can't even discuss your meds with anyone there.

Some pharmacists will refuse to sell if they suspect it's not for proper use, most don't care. I don't care personally... however I do take offense when the idiots are trying to tell me that syringes are for their diabetic grandmas or diabetic cats... trust me it's happened lol

I've never been asked when i buy and frankly, most dont even have a clue what im talkimg about lol

If they did ask i just plan on saying im on hormome therapy and ran out of needles due to a delay in shipping since i order them online which is all quite truthful

I've never asked personally or worked in a place where anyone did. The only time I say anything is if they ask what syringes to get and then I ask what they're using it for. If you tell me you're shooting up dope or test I still won't judge and just give out the appropriate syringes. You're gonna do it one way or another, I rather the person do it properly and safe. I do agree some pharmacists are a little too gung-ho about making sure no one is doing anything illegal.

Plain brown box, no indication whatsoever what is inside...... AAA+ service in my books.
I don't know how the price compares with Costco, but if it saves me a hassle like you were put through then its worth it.

I was only poking fun. I get mine online and save the hassles.
