hi p,

never do i get forearm spasms unless its after a back workout. i don't always get them but i'd say 50 percent of the time after back workout i get them later in the day like 5 hours onwards till i go to bed. i wake up fine next day so i know its for sure the backworkout i did. i use straps but i am not sure why i still get this it could be the v-bar rows as it alwals happens when i use any v bar handle on any machine or setup. its the brachioradialis i beleive the upper part which meets elbow. most peeps get this from biceps workout hinting maybe i am involving too muh biceps during back even though i try hard not too.

Do you normally do reverse grip preachers or hammers in your arm workout?

You are using too much arm in the movement...even with straps it is easy to involve the arm too much...try to think of the arms as hooks only...and pull from the elbow not the hand. You could also do some direct forearm work to strengthen and improve their endurance.

I had basically the same problem. I've been doing static holds regularly the past year and its made a world of difference.

I know this isnt any help but at least youre not getting back spasms after back workouts. Those are crippling and leave you down for days. Good news is your back is in good shape :)

Static hold is like a farmers walk without the walk. Take a couple DB's that you can hold at your side standing up for say 50 sec or so, try to hold them for 60 sec, do 3 sets. Once you can hold them for the required 60 sec. up the weight and do it all over again.

I've found my grip strength has increased drastically doing these..

Do you do any research on your own or do you just expect others to spoon feed you everything? Must be unionized or and NDP supporter lol
