I'm having issues with improving my flat bench press. I've been stuck at the same weight and reps for a few weeks now and I'm looking for advice on how to change that. I've tried adding negatives to the end of the sets and at the end of the exercise but, I still seem to be stuck. All my other lifts are improving weekly...
Thoughts/suggestions?

bench press is 6 reps on my first set then drop the weight for 10 reps, drop again for 12.

I've never been a fan of drop sets. they've done nothing for me in regards to getting stronger, that just me. My fav routine for strength increase is the 5x5 program.. Bill Star has a good one. As far as getting past plateaus I found that heavy partials have helped as well as incorpoating speed work, dynamic lifts ( ala West Side) to help with explosiveness.

First learn how to bench...as per Dave's video. Then once you know how it will take you 5-7 years to master the technique because of the one variable that always comes into play and continually increases...ie weight! Use those years wisely...and it really makes little difference which routine you use....as Dave says...it doesnt F**n matter...it is how you approach training that will either allow you to progress or not...you will also need to look at nutrition, recuperation, training the rest of the body etc....the bench press is not a mutually exclusive lift...just like the squat or dead it rely's on many other muscles in the body and coordination of these.
