My wife says he's a cancer survivor so we should leave him alone.Well,we know every other team was doping at some time.I remember reading an expose in the late 80's,the guy told everything about the team docs and the daily blood tests and adjustments these guys received. It's been bad since the days when that guy suffered a heart attack(60's)and was found to be full of amphetamines. You can bet Lemond was doping too.

I don't know if it was on CBB or another forum but I remember having a similar conversation a few years back. Same response now as then.
There is no way that a "clean" athlete dominates the rest of the field of genetically gifted and drug using athletes for years. I don't care how many tests he has passed.

He did actually fail a few tests they were just covered up. The same thing happens at the Olympics and world championships rather regularly, mainly with big countries. IE if Ben Johnson would have been on the German team, nothing would have surfaced.
I have no doubt in my mind that many of the guys in the pro pelaton are doping because I know many pro riders personally. I have ridden and talked to them and its just a way of life. Its going to be interesting to see if Lance keeps lying though... Its not even the riders faults, its the fact that these tours are so demanding they actually need to dope. 3 weeks of ~4+ hours a day in the saddle is hell, that much cardio ends up absolutely leveling red blood cell count because you kill them off with that much endurance. They get crushed, so take EPO or get a transfusion or take a month off... You can't take time off before a big event. Not to mention muscle damage just from that much work = testosterone + gh + slin + an IV bag of goodies.
They need to make the tour 7-10 days max, 2 rest days IMO.
Basically what I learned from this is that he was doping just as much as everyone else, but still destroying them.
Who cares?

Just wait until someone wises up and starts testing hockey players. They have the most lax testing of any pro sport. As far as Lance goes, they have peoples words against his, he can probably keep himself clean now it's been so long since anything was tested. If he was doping as much as they said, the man's a friggen genius to never get caught (cover up an american athletes failed test, big surprise)

I know half of his new team (SpiderTech) personally. Good guys, hopefully they don't get busted doing anything.

Agree,in the 80's and 90's I think most teams were,at least the top teams. What about riders that don't want to dope?Steve Bauer spoke out often against doping,he led the tour for 10 days once before he faded.

Yea I agree, I don't care I honestly think its funny. I'm a part of cycling too so w.e. 60's-90's were actually horrible for doping, partially because of the lack of knowledge, it was dangerous. Many people died due to having too high of a hematocrit %, somewhere in the 60-70% range which can be deadly. Taking it up to ~54%max is relatively safe, the key is regular testing (once a week at least). Also their use of amphetamines was disgusting. Many many ex pro riders are still hooked on morphine too!
And he faded because that's how long the boost from his blood transfusion lasted :)
But not dope?I guess they all had to do something to stay on the team.
