The couple released a joint statement saying, "After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship."

The statement continues, "We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and center of both of our lives."

The couple adds, "We consider this a private matter and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment."

63-year-old Arnold and 55-year-old Maria met in 1977 when Tom Brokaw introduced them at a charity event. They were married in 1986.

Thats really to bad. Seen pics of them back from 20 years ago. I guess things change over time and people grow apart. Smart move to wait until all of his political run was done because it would have been a huge deal if he was still the Governor. Arnold is still the man either way.

Awesome! he proves he is ONLY human just like everyone else. Maybe if Shriver was in touch with HIS needs, he might of been more in touch with her needs.

Today i heard on the radio 3 more women have come forward claiming to be banging arnold in the late 80, 90s when he was married. One of those mistresses has a 14 yr old kid she claims is also Arnolds. Holy shit is his personal life ****ed. He has also stopped all of his movie production he had going on and even this cartoon they were making until all this shit gets figured out.

No matter how many women he banged thats his personal life i still think of Arnold as the King of Bodybuilding and the Pioneer of the sport we all love today!

Maybe test levels were too high.Let's blame it on his wife.Something like that.Nobody can really speak unless they had his opportunities.I've seen people act pretty righteous and change real quick when a beautiful woman puts it in front of them.

I am not surprised in the least and don't care either way. I was never a fan of Arnold because of his family life. We all make mistakes and have our own demons to deal with. I just hope everything gets sorted out and he and everyone else can get on with their lives.
