was in the audience for both prejudging and the night show. Was a well run show as always, and I was actually quite surprised with how well the judging was for the most part. In all but 1 class the winner was who deserved to be the winner in my mind. And in that exception, there was only a 1 point differential, so really could have gone either way...There were actually a few 1 point seperations in categories throughout the night. So a very competitive show.

Scott Macdonald won the overall, well deserved. Before the night show, I thought the heavyweight winner had it in the bag, but it was a different ballgame once they stood side by side. Scott won the middleweight, and he's actually only a few pounds over the light middle cutoff, which he could easily squeeze into if he wanted to do nationals. If he does, he will do well. He has freaky legs, and is one very thick dude.

The heavyweight had striated glutes, but just didn't have the same thickness. Another standout was the 2nd place in heavy...Liam spencer I think his name was. young guy, 26 I think...he stood at least 6'2 or 6'3, and from the back had perfect shape and symmetry and thickness...Looks pretty crazy. from the front, something was off...perhaps the chest thickness, or the balance overall...but this guy is the kinda guy that once he fills out will be a freak superheavy...his frame and structure can support so much more muscle, and if he manages to fill it out some, watch out...

Yet another standout was light middle winner, Rob mcdonald. I also had him winning masters, but lost by 1 point to a much more massive and taller guy...Rob had the shape and symmetry and conditioning that I thought he would walk away with both classes. He's from my home town, and has put on some size in the last few years...he is easily a top 3 national level welter if he can squeeze into that class - which I think he can. I actually think he could win nationals as a welter.

Figure competitors have gotten much better in the last couple of years in NS, I think its becoming more popular there now. short and tall class were quite close, although I called the winner in both. The tall especially was a standout, having only been training for under a year. Shape, size, symmetry, and pretty....with more training, she could do well at nationals in figure tall. She's already got enough size...so it should be just about getting out there, known, and experienced on stage. She also won the overall.

Bikini tall was won by an experienced shannon lynch...she stood out, and won both the class and overall. second place, erica deveau looked great too, first time on stage and under a year into the gym...I think she should do well in figure next year which is her plan. Bikini short winner really stood out in her class.

This will be my next show (in 2012)...I hope to start a log for it next year as I did for sudbury and ontario provinicals...I debated doing nationals this year or next, but with the move to a new province, I didn't want to make the choice between asking permission to compete for nova scotia, or somehow competing for ontario since I qualified there - even though i live here now...So I figured I'd start back to my roots and see how I compare to the nova scotia guys next year!

I'm planning on next year if all goes as planned. This year is too soon for me.
