he wasnt specific about what type of cardio/aerobic activity causes the catabolism for the fasted state cardio, if he could show some study results proving catabolism with LOW INTENSITY cardio in a fasted state id love to read it

Ask him :) Seems like an all around helpful guy.

Ive never had any issues with fasted cardio as long as it is low intensity...as seen on hundreds of clients...the intensity level will determine what sources of energy are required during cardio.

Even fasted HIIT cardio for a short duration, Id say no more than 20-30 minutes is fine. I've never had issues with muscle loss nor have any clients doing this. Works for every competitor I've ever known at least.

I too have seen great results from fasted cardio. The only reason I no longer use this method is that I feel like absolute crap while doing it. I would rather eat a bit before or even during cardio allowing me to use a little more intensity during the cardio session and feel a bit better. Just a personal preference.

The tour cyclists eat a small amount of carbohydrate to aid in the burning of fat,110 bpm.they go for 5-7 hours and maintain their leg mass.

I've done cardio (light intensity and HITT) both ways. I really didn't notice a big difference as far as results go, but I also feel WAY better doing it after eating.

Personally i have tried many many methods.... cardio (1 hr) while in a fasted state (keeping heart rate at 135bpm), 1 hour cardio (1 hr duration) after eating a carton of egg whites (keeping heart rate at 135 bps) and hit cardio(30 mins) 1 hr after a carton of egg whites and for myself noticed that what seemed to work best was to constantly switch it up....just what worked for me this time , perhaps next prep will be different who knows......and yes diet is KEY

Good example of true low intensity, 110bpm hardly feels like any work but after 20-40min you can feel glycogen deplete and your body switching energy sources, its pretty cool. I have done many of these rides burning 3-5k calories, I topped out at 5hr in off season, no more for me :)
