I'm currently 250 at around 15%-17% bf trying to get down to 230 over the next 2-3 months. Right now my diet is 500g protein, 400g carbs, and 150g fat. Would I be better off just lowering everything to 400p/200c/100f or should I go keto with 500p/150f?

I had to eat 5000 calories just so I could put on 2 pounds per month so I'm thinking lowering the cals while keeping some carbs should get me most of the way there. If I were to go the carb route all 200g would be consumed for breakfast and post workout.

I did a keto diet when I was cutting down once, it worked pretty well but it was tough eating just protein and fats all the time. I don't think I'd do it again since I'm not that serious into bodybuilding anymore, but if you got the will power, I'd say give it a shot.

I found the high amount of fat kept my hunger down.

It doesnt matter what you had to eat to gain weight...dieting is a whole different ball game. To start I would suggest 6 meals with 50g protein per meal, 15-20g fat per meal and 30-40g carbs in meals 1-3-5...see how that goes. You should also do cardio 30min ED to start.

Well, I have to forcefeed myself just to maintain and I drop weight like crazy eating "normally" so I'd like to hold on to as much size and strength as possible. Is a post workout shake included in those 6 meals? If not, what's the ideal pro/carb ratio to aim for?

As for cardio, I walk about 50 minutes/day right now and it would be nice if I could add in some HIIT sprinting/swimming/biking. Bad idea or would some added carbs make up for it?

Thanks for taking the time.

As I said above what you had to eat to gain weight has nothing to do with what you need to eat to diet and maintain muscle. I would avoid HIT cardio for now and see how you drop with just fast walking. You dont need a post workout shake at this point. Why add carbs and then do HIT cardio...thats redundant.

Thanks! It'll be nice not having to eat tuna after years of 2 cans a day, I probably have mercury poisoning already, lol.
