100% agree on his powerlifting comment. Exact same as the clowns at my gym that all hang out and get progressively fatter every month. "Im a powerlifter". lol.

Youre a fat **** who lifts with unnecessary amounts of bands, belts, straps, and other gimmicks to look cool in front of university chicks.

FAIL

im gonna go with no. i dont know them personally, and i dont really care. i just wish they wouldnt make so much ****ing noise smashing shit around and hanging out like its a ****ing social club while using 3 or 4 squat racks between them.

i really need to learn to be more tolerant of others.

I know what you mean. Most people can be avoided, ignored or tolerated however there are occasional exceptions. I have difficulty with this concept also because sometimes with particular people I completely lack a conscious and would gladly terminate them based only on the inconvenience and/or annoyance they create. However society has decided such practice is both punishable and generally frowned upon. My only advice would be to smile. Try to bring yourself outside of the problem and look at the situation as if you were hearing about it and not experiencing it. Then try to figure out a reasonable and logical solution. When I do this it puts everything in perspective and I find it easier to deal with difficult situations.

Also when you see someone in the gym being stupid try to maintain positive thoughts such as: at least they're doing "something" or that because you are both in the gym and training you probably have more in common than most other people you meet. At least they're taking an active role in their own life and are attempting to accomplish something...even if it involves kettle bells :).

Half of the reason I'm writing this is to help reinforce what I should be doing for myself because I am not nearly tolerant enough. Especially in the gym.

One thing I've noticed is that positive, happy people seem to always be able to get what they want without causing conflict. I have trouble with this because if I dislike someone it is readily apparent by my facial expression. However if you can pull it off it works on the principle of a shit sandwich. You say something good about them which fulfills their desire for positive affirmation (probably why they're acting the way they are in the first place). Then you politely but clearly (while still remaining positive) suggest a way to correct a behaviour that you would like them to change. Then you finish with more positive affirmation. Shit sandwich.
