Never eat the sweetners. Just cancer waiting to happen and there are some theories that sweetners still have fat adding effects.
Black, preferably organic is the way to go with coffee as it is an amazing anti oxidant.

Hold on Bowlcut, the artificial sweetners have never been proven to cause cancer. You sound like my local bulk hippie store owner: "stay natural and organic man, all the rest will give you cancers".
People have used sweetners for the past 40 years and none have been shown to cause cancer.
About the fat adding effects of sweetners, again where is the proof? I've been substituting sugar with artificial sweetners and I've lost 51 pounds so far not to mention gained control of my blood-glucose. Looks to me like that is proof to use artifial sweetners.

I've switched to Stevia, and I love it. Totally natural and no calories.

Hey Shithead, thanks for the heads up. Yeah, my 4 lb tub of chocolate flavored whey protein from the evil corp "muscletech" is almost up. I'll be switching to a non-sweetened whey protein and add my own blueberries and whole boiled eggs and smooth the whole thing in a blender. Each shake is over 60 grams of protein. WOOT! :hu

this stevia is the BOMB. vanilla flavoured, yummy. as for aspartame you should know that 75% of the studies paid for by the drug companies are positive while independent studies are like 25% positive. the stuff gives me migranes, gotta love that methanol and formaldhyde!

I try to stay away from artificial sugars. Your body responds to them like you're eating sugar but no calories are coming in. Refined sugar isn't great but I wonder if in the long run it may be better to be a few lbs heavier just eating the real stuff.
On a side note. I love donuts. Before anatomy labs when I only had 15 minutes and no money I would buy a 1/2 dozen fritters and dutchies...mmmmm. Considering it was $3.50 for 6 it was the cheapest way to bulk lol.

Lol, yeah. 2 apple fritters, 2 blueberry fritters and 2 dutchies makes 1760 calories, 62g fat, 28g protein, 284g carbs and oddly enough 100% of my DRI of Iron (only 0.6g trans fat).
I am in no way recommending this though.

Sucralose has been accepted by several national and international food safety regulatory bodies, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Joint Food and Agriculture Organization/World Health Organization Expert Committee on Food Additives, The European Union's Scientific Committee on Food, Health Protection Branch of Health and Welfare Canada and Food Standards Australia-New Zealand (FSANZ). Sucralose is the only artificial sweetener ranked as "safe" by the consumer advocacy group Center for Science in the Public Interest.[13][14] According to the Canadian Diabetes Association, one can consume 15 mg/kg/day of Sucralose "on a daily basis over a ... lifetime without any adverse effects".[15] For a 150 lb person, 15 mg/kg is about 1000 mg, equivalent to about 75 packets of Splenda or the sweetness of 612 gm or 2500 kcal of sugar.
“In determining the safety of sucralose, the FDA reviewed data from more than 110 studies in humans and animals. Many of the studies were designed to identify possible toxic effects including carcinogenic, reproductive and neurological effects. No such effects were found, and FDA's approval is based on the finding that sucralose is safe for human consumption.”[16] For example, McNeil Nutritional LLC studies submitted as part of its U.S. FDA Food Additive Petition 7A3987, indicated that "in the 2-year rodent bioassays...there was no evidence of carcinogenic activity for either sucralose or its hydrolysis products...."
Concerns have been raised about the effect of sucralose on the thymus, an organ that is important to the immune system. A report from NICNAS cites two studies on rats, both of which found "a significant decrease in mean thymus weight" at a certain dose.[20] The sucralose dosages which caused the thymus gland effects referenced in the NICNAS report was 3000 mg/kg bw/day for 28 days. For an 80 kg (176 lb) human, this would mean a 28-day intake of 240 grams of sucralose, which is equivalent to more than 20,000 individual Splenda packets/day for approximately one month. The dose required to provoke any immunological response was 750 mg/kg bw/day,[21] or 60 grams of sucralose per day, which is more than 5,000 Splenda packets/day (there are 11.9 mg of sucralose in a 1g retail packet of Splenda). These and other studies were considered by regulators before concluding that sucralose was safe. However, because some ingested sucralose is broken down and absorbed by the body there is concern that chronic consumption may lead to thymus shrinkage or other side-effects.

The author describes how aspartame was originally blocked from commercial use but like most things in government money talks.

Considering she is a well known cancer researcher and acclaimed by peers in her field I giver her credit.
You need to give yourself credit too. You didn't lose all that weight because of artificial sweeteners, you did it by life style and habit changes in addition to dedication and discipline.
