Just wondering if there is such a thing as too much nuts in someones diet.
I am running a low carb diet where the only direct source of carbs I have is from Oatmeal in the am and from Almonds & PB throughout the day.
My fat intake is about 100g a day.. so minus eggs and ground beef.. I am sitting at about 75g of fat i am getting from Almonds & PB. ( that = about 70 almonds & 4 tbsp PB )
Is there any down side to this? it seems like a lot.. and i know most people subsitite with oils to get their fat up.. but its just a lot more satisfying the way im doing it.
Thoughts???

90-100g fat is fine....toss the oatmeal...it just keeping you out of ketosis and will make you hungry and irritable. You cannot replace the nuts or PB with oils...you need the trace carbs.

Thats great... its what i was hoping to hear.
As for the Keto diet.. the reason why I am running a low carb diet at the moment is because i dont think i would be able to get/stay into ketosis with what I am currently eating ( and enjoying! ) I chew a lot of gum each day, drink diet pop, and use splenda in my coffee. Also have that 10cal jello as a snack sometimes at night. I also eat more green veggies then are allowed ( if you remember the thread about green veggie amount it was concluded that if running a low carb diet you can eat more then a small amount of these ) oh and I use a small amount of salsa with my eggs. All of which i think are fine on a Low carb diet.
I am not irritiable or all that hungry actually. Not compared to last time i diet, with a dieting coach who had me eating ~150g carbs a day, from brown rice, oatmeal and yams. I was a sack of shit then.
Guess it just gets easier everytime.. but it seems I have found a good balance.
I think I will give Keto a shot in a month or so when it is closer to summer and im ready to cut out all the extra things im not allowed to have.

Im glad I was put on the keto diet for my contest prep...I maintained pretty good energy levels throughout the whole diet...started to obviously taper off towards the end due to cutting out fats etc. I was happy with my results on the diet and would definately do it again. I seem to hear time and time again low carb (oats, rice, yams etc) you feel worse than on the keto!
