2. Creatine is essential while dieting mainly because while dieting we normally lower carbohydrate intake and thus intra-cellular water is also lowered...thus reducing cell volumization. Reducing the level of water inside the cell too much can put the cell into a state of catabolism. Thus adding creatine to the diet increases cell volumization by increasing water inside the cell...not to mention the added leverage and strength maintenance as well as increased ATP stores. The dieter woudl actually appear harder because the muscles would be much more full as opposed to being flat. Water retention with a good creatine (German Creapure brand) will only occur inside the cell...with inferior creatines (absorption much less than 100%) you get extra-cellular water retention, stomach upset, etc.
As for dosage 5g in the morning and 5g post workout is all you need...no loading phase either.

I juz quoted ur post above and juz wanted to ask how would ur body hold onto the water since ur not getting adequate amount of carbs? thanks.

The answer is by keeping sodium and water intake high.

P - I have only been taking Creatine post workout , from the above it sounds like im missing the boat , i was under the impression from different articles i have read that 5gs was good per day , should i kick that to the curb and follow your suggestion above ?

5g in the morning with breakfast and 5g post workout is best.

So taking Crealyze 30-45mins pre workout isn't best? Better to take it in the morning and post? Cause I've been using it pre and post. BTW, Crealyze is amazing!

I prefer morning and post workout...doing this you get cell volumization thru the day and never go longer than 12 hours between doses.

Good idea! Makes sense as your body is fairly glycogen depleted in the morning and my muscles will soak up the creatine and glycerol on an empty stomach like a dry sponge. I'll try this tomorrow morning!

I wasnt aware i should be taking creatine while doing a keto diet. So if i am a few weeks in.. and I start taking it; should i expect a weight gain this week from my cells filling up with water?
