First off you will need to be tested to see if you heavy metal toxicity. Once that is done you will need to contact a naturopath or integrative medicine doctor to assist in the detox itself. There are supplements that will assist with the detox as well as far infrared sauna. This is not something anyone just does because they think they should etc.

As for fibre the only ones that i have used that actually work well are Fiberlyze and ground flax seed.

Chelation therapy? Would you consider this something worth doing?

Chelation therapy is the administration of chelating agents to remove heavy metals from the body. For the most common forms of heavy metal intoxication—those involving lead, arsenic or mercury—the standard of care in the United States dictates the use of dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA). Other chelating agents, such as 2,3-dimercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid (DMPS) and alpha lipoic acid (ALA), are used in conventional and alternative medicine. No approved medical research has found any benefits to chelation therapy for other diseases or ailments.

Fantastic Answer !

Most do it yourself detox kits do more damage than having the toxins in your body.
A proper detox cant be had for $39.99. The supplements required run into the hundreds.

Could you expand on this a little? Perhaps in a different thread so I don't hijack. Why is psyllium a poor choice for people with IBS? Does it depend on the type of IBS(IBS-D, IBS-C, IBS-A etc.)?

Its a poor choice because it irritates the colon too much...Metamucil is famous for this...I have IBS and if I use Metamucil I become constipated.
