OTTAWA, March 11, 2011 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the public not to consume certain whey protein isolates described below because these products may be contaminated with Salmonella. The affected whey protein isolates have been recalled by Vitalabs Inc., Jonesboro, GA, due to potential for Salmonella contamination.
The CFIA is working with the United States Food and Drug Administration to identify and have the affected products that were imported in Canada removed from the market place.
These products are known to be distributed in Ontario and may have been sold elsewhere.
