I read through the advice posted by Ukrainianguy and from that I have a few questions. I am the most active of the friends I know, most of my friends drink and watch movies or play video games. I've tried to introduce exercise to our activities but it rarely catches on. I myself worked out a lot while I was in school a year ago. On average I was physically active 5 days a week, for about 2 hours each day. I loved it, and it's why I'd like to return to it. I've also always wanted to have defined muscles and strength. Where do I find a community, or people I can be accountable to, in reaching my goals? Is there a Gym in Vancouver (West Side) that can provide a positive and encouraging atmosphere to someone as new to the scene as I am? Thanks for your time!

honestly bro, i would just join a gym and leave it to yourself its very hard to find some one that will be on the same level of motivation as yourself, as for training as a beginner look up starting strength or the real 5x5 both excellent programs for someone starting out, good luck on your fitness goals

hahaha hey i would suggest you make one amazing playlist and you just attack it solo, try out some different gyms till you find one that sticks and you will make friends that are more into it then you are and will push you past your breaking points and really help you achieve you goals. My best buddy works out a ton but at a different gym... so i am stuck going alone, and he tags along with me every month or so just to see what new stuff i have learned and really get an amazing workout. haha you may find you buddies will see you getting into great shape and it may inspire them to start, but you gotta be the test dummy and find the gym and the people and the workout =D

I agree with the above.. Never know you might make a friend at the gym.... another idea maybe take a preworkout shake like NO explode or WTF (Wake The Freak) I just tried. Tons of energy and pump. You will buzz saw thru your workout. Maybe someone at your work may want to fireup the old furnace as well
