Does anyone else see WWIII coming in the next few months? Seriously. If these governments are replaced with radical Islamists, Israel will have no choice but to start ****ing people up. It would not surprise me one bit if they dropped a nuke or two to get their point across. I have been glued to CNN watching this shit develop.

I think the important thing is to distinguish between the state and the people that occupy it.
There are a lot of things happening there that I don't agree with, IE expansionism etc.
I also agree that to a certain degree it has not been fairly portrayed in our part of the world, and that we are guilty to a certain degree of turning a blind eye.
Problem is any discussion about this subject will lead to a bunch of shit, including getting into politcal & religious discussion.......which is against the rules..... even though it is probably THE issue at the root.

Maybe.But the Saudis have so much cash to keep people happy with.The Egyptians don't have this luxury.A high birth rate complicates matters.Tanks and planes keep the big boys happy but don't do much for the poverty that so many of them face.Some people here feel that the Egyptians shouldn't have a choice to elect a leader...who the hell are we to decide this from afar?

Interesting you mention Star Trek, because I was watching Stephen Hawking's Universe and he was against sending radio signals into space..... The analogy he used was that there is a really good chance if there is someone out there to hear it, they'd probably treat us like we treated the natives of North America......

The people of Egypt will decide what kind of government they want and maybe it will be one that makes the U.S. and Israel uncomfortable, but that's democracy. Democracy is messy and unpredictable but its the best system we have and, as has been proven in other parts of the world, democratic countries learn to live with other countries because their populations generally do not like to send their sons and daughters off to war unless it is absolutely unavoidable. As for Israel, it seems to me that one thing they may have to worry about is that Egyptians have shown the rest of the Arab world, including the Palestinians, the power of non-violent protest. You have to wonder what would happen if Palestinians began to use non-violent protest involving thousands of people as we saw in Egypt. Would the Israeli security forces be willing to use violence against non-violent protesters, especially since the U.S. condemned such action in Egypt, or would the Israeli government be forced to compromise and begin real negotiations with the Palestinians? That would be an interesting situation and probably more believable that WW III.

Gas prises shooting up here, $1.22 at some stations already.
Libya only supplies a small percentage of world oil,the Saudis keep thing stable...sort of.Good thing these countries owe lots of money,they have to keep pumping.
What? We give them free education and give them the ability to have a better life if they choose it. If they decide not to choose it we give them cash to sit on their asses. Sounds like a rough life. Bring on the aliens.
