I read an article today in MD mag saying using 400mg of caffeine pre workout can actually increase your strength by 7%-8%

I've always been against using caffeine unless im dieting but i would have a coffee here and there, because of the catabolic effects it has.

What do you guys think about using caffeine on a daily basis pre-workout? could it effect muscle gains because of raising cortisol levels?

do you use caffeine pre-workout? or not?

any info and/or experience, post away :D

I use it for energy purposes...since i'm dieting down right now I don't drink near as much coffee as I do at times so I take it pre-workout just to keep me going for the 2 hrs i'm at the gym

just dotn go crazy on it. id stress more on diet then a few cups of coffee :-)

Been using caffeine and ephedrine preworkout for almost 20 years with no ill effects.
