Howdy everybody,

I'm 23, and I've been interested in body building for years, I've just never had the time, nor the body type (I burn fat like an incinerator). However, I will have a fair amount of time in the next 6 months and I feel it's time to get started! Most of the routines I've tried in the past are the "Charles Atlas" dynamic tension workouts, which certainly work-if you stick with them... I'm hoping to find inspiration here, and reach my goal of being more built than my girlfriends dad... and becoming very very strong! I am a total newbie at this, so any advice on gyms in the lower mainland area of Vancouver that are good, or positive motivation are welcomed!

Welcome, from vancouver area too.
The key will be what you eat. It is important to get on a structured meal plan you can realistically follow day in and day out

That's good advice. I think I may also eventually need some type of personal trainer. To at least give me a foundation in proper workout routines with machines and free weights. I'm very new to the world of body building.

Hey Marti,

A personal trainer may be a good idea, work hard/work smart. But be careful. Especially here in Vancouver, there's a plethora of bad trainers who will take your money and waste your time. Don't get one based on price alone, and shop around, ask for a free session. IF they are a good trainer, they won't have a problem showing their stuff. And you may as well look for a trainer schooled in nutrition as well. Like I said, there's so many to choose from in Vancouver, it won't be hard to get what you want. Just remember, foundation and core, endurance, hypertrophy, strength, power. Get it done buddy!

Cheers!
