so heres what the deal is.... i think what happened was i went and played hockey, didnt stretch it out too much but its not really aggresive hockey so thought i would be ok.......... next morning i woke up with

both legs in pain---- now its not a stinging pain and its not a soreness pain it feels like an inbetween
lower back discomfort
groin area discomfort

and once again by discomfort i really dont thing its a stinging pain or soreness but an inbetween

I was thinking something might be wrong with my lower back..... slipped disc or something....... its been 48 hrs thus far

any advice on ways to make this better besides tylonal and ibprophen......

was thinking of going to see a doctor but it seemed like the general concensus was to wait about a week or two to see how it goes.......

thanks for the help

Welcome back to the world of hockey! :) From the sounds of your pains you haven't been on the ice in a while. The groin pain is from the long strides, legs/lower back is from the hour long "Squat" position.... muscles just aren't used to it. It's kind of like if you've been out of the gym for 6 months, the pain you get after the workouts.

Some pain killers and some stretches and you'll be ok in a few days.

Sounds to me a lot like what I'm just going through. Started with hockey in winter and just came up again while playing lacrosse. Physio Dr told me hip flexors, because they tie in near the base of the spine and wrap around the front down the groin. He said because I weight train and partly because of age the explosive movements required for running/skating are too stressful and if the flexors are not warmed up enough it puts too much stress.

I have ripped my right one and am slowly coming back with hip flexor stretches after mild cardio. I have no trouble with squats or leg presses, meaning very little pain but I hurt when I run or do lunges.
