Two men have been charged after a man walked into an Erin Mills bank yesterday to tell staff he was being extorted.

The local businessman entered a TD bank in Mississauga just after 11:30 a.m. and told staff a group of men had demanded that he withdraw a large amount of money from his account.

As a result of the tip, the Peel Regional Police tactical squad was called out to a nutrition supplement store the victim owns on Glen Erin Dr.
Police subsequently arrested and charged two men.

Gregory Kovacs (http://www.canadabodybuilding.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13643), 41, of Niagara and Jonathan Sherwood, 32 of Hamilton are each charged with one count of extortion.

Both men are scheduled to appear this morning in a Brampton courtroom for a bail hearing.

Wow, small world. From my research, the guy being extorted was an advertiser here once. A few members will know who it is from the location.

The charges are quite serious. Extortion carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment in Canada.

They are pretty serious but HA guys are serving pretty short sentences for that and they represent an "alleged" criminal organization.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if they serve less than two years if they have no priors.

Exactly... I know a couple guys that were charged with Extortion out in Windsor a few years back, HA associates.. they were both out in under 2 years.

If I told you the evidence stacked against him youd probably laugh about how anyone could be such a ****ing retard.

The way he went about this was anything but "white collar"

Complete loser.

Sad. It's a shame there is so little opportunity for success in this sport.
