Try Quicken. Good overall accounting software

most of the accounting programs are pretty good, but some can be a bit too much if all you're doing is simple stuff like budgets.

i have software, but for me and my ex (when we lived together) i just used excel as its easier to edit and for simple expenses easier for her to figure out (she's no rocket scientist LOL).

Try writing down every expense for a month of two, you won't believe where you blow your money away! It really changes your mindset from oh its just a few bucks, because you'll see 'hey i spent $300 last month on this crap' etc....

and I'm a big believer in putting money away every month no matter what. figure out how much you should spend on living and fun, then sock away a little every month, it adds up fast

great advice tony.

As a good budgeting software you can use Microsoft Money, or you can use Quicken.

There is a 3rd less known software that is pretty good as well: Budget Express, here is the link http://budgetexpress.demarque.com/en/personal-finance-software/
