So back to the basics, what do you guys use in your Post-Workout Shake?
Dextrose? Creatine? Fruits? How many grams of protein?

It has been said for years that glucose/sugar is essential PWO to rejuvenate the glycogen stores in muscles/liver and spike insulin levels to enhance protein absorption and prevent catabolism. And quite frankly most of the protein powders these days are so refined that there is nothing put pure Whey Isolate or even Whey Hydrolate in them.

I've am drinking pure pure protein shakes PWO now but in the past periodically I have added dextrose.

Any views on this? Seems basic I know, but these are the fundamentals of Nutrition and post workout is a major player.

50g Dextrose
5g L-Glutamine
5g Micronized Creatine Powder
1 Banana
1\2 cup mixed fruit
Water

I have mine like this:
25g dextrose
3scoop BC+EAA (LG)
1 scoop MAP (pp)

or

25g dextrose
15-20g ibcaa's
1 scoop MAP

or

25g dextrose
15g ibcaas
25g whey

and 5g creatine for all.

forgot to mention I am sitting at 248lbs at the moment, crazy cutting rebound LOVE IT ;)

Some MAY know different but Glutimine should be taken between meals for best results,hence i try not to add to my PWO.
Mine looks like this
2 cups water
table spoon of MCT
big heaping scoop of whey
Powder'd BCAA.s
table spoon of leucine
5g of creatine
either scoop of Waxy Maze or a bannana(depending on mood)
Drink her down ,wait 10 minutes and take two tablespoons of Twin Labs liquid Amino fuel.HMMMMMM HMMMMM Good :)
If I am real hungry for a carb I will throw in a grapefruit afterwards.
I usually have dinner an hour later ,so I am getting lots of carbs then ,in vegtables or whole wheat pasta.

some MAY know not to add fats to there PWO shake as it slows the absorbtion of the whey!!

60 - 80 grams waxy maize
45 grams whey isolate

You know your right!I do not why I keep doing that?The real question is how much slower in reality.And secondly,in bodybuilding,slower is better!LOL I guess I like coconut oil too much.

Generally when I am not "in season" my PWO drink is the 3rd in about 2 hours. So its only about 50g dex, 50g pro, eaa's. Followed with a good non-fat meal 30min later.

Cool, well it looks like a lot of people are using waxy maize, I read that this is much better than dextrose in terms of being low GI, however, maybe the high GI dextrose in small amount could be beneficial for the insulin spike to help absorb the protein better? maybe that answer is obvious.
I do have to be honest tho, high GI dextrose and other refined sugars make me feel like shit. So I'm leaning more towards the waxy maize, it might help get my caloric intake up a little too, without packing on as much fat mass.
I want to bulk but i want to "lean bulk", im pretty lean right now, wanna keep it this way. I'm tracking my diet right now and my caloric goal each day is basically 3500 calories. Surprisingly pretty hard to take in this much food without weight gainer..

Well bro, the reason we use dextrose based carb ups PWO is because waximaize starch is known to increase body fat.

beef protein isolate immediately pwo, 10min later, 3 scoops Quickmass with a scoop of isolate protein, 300mg alpha lipoic acid and a green apple, 2hrs later, 8-10oz chicken breast with sweet potato or rice

Pre/Intra Workout: sip on 100g maltodextrin, 50 grams whey isolate, creatine
Postworkout: 50 grams protein, 1tbsp natty pb, 2 whole eggs, 1/3 cup nuts, 1 litre of chocolate milk
