Factory Unlocked iPhone

Apple Canada sells Factory unlocked iPhones. My question is are they fully unlocked so you can use non apple apps, or is it just the sim that is unlocked?

Anyone know?

unlocked so you can use any company (rogers, telus, virgin, bell, fido...)

if you wnt the free apps, you'll have to jailbreak it

I don't understand the jailbreak . Does that give you every free app ? Because I can DL any app I want so what does the jailbreak do ?

download apps you have to pay through appstore

like tomtom or navigon GPS software on appstore -> 60-80$, jailbroken -> free
