Of course some have been understandably against it, but THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF SUPPORT IN FAVOR OF THE NEW DIVISION

Obviously Canada will follow suit....if not 2011, 2012 for sure. Last time for all the ladies to get the victory and be the "last" female bodybuilding champ for the respective associations, province, nationals etc.

Suppose this is a natural coarse , what other female sport is sponsered or has the backing a male sport/divisio does ....Right or Wrong its the way it is i guess. I personally know IFBB Pro and know how much of her life she has dedicated to it , to have this change come up has to be like having the floor pulled from under you.

Well according to RX Muscle, they spoke with a couple of people (Steve Weinberger I believe) on their radio show and they said that FBB wasn't going anywhere. They brought in the new division to bridge the gap between FBB and figure.

Hi Melody....I edited my post. I pulled the info from another site, but, you're right, it has yet to be confirmed. It would be an aweful thing to see FBB go, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things play out next year.

doesn't matter, the new physique division will eventually be a bodybuilding division, and only the hugest of girls will lose out. the winners of this new division is probably an already qualified IFBB pro bodybuilder. Just maybe not the one that has more muscle than a middleweight man.

99.9% of female bodybuilders in canada have nothing to worry about. If bodybuilding is what you want to do, then all it is is a shift in the wording of the division...You'll still need to pack on more muscle than you probably can to succeed in this division. Not to mention, the winners aren't going to be natural by any stretch! If I am wrong, then what will they do to figure? Tell them to look like bikini, and then tell bikini to look like 12 yr old anorexics?

steve d ur hilarious. lol. 12 yr old anorexics hahahaha. Anyways I'm a bit disappointed they chose to do away with the female BB. I actually enjoyed this part of the sport and the great physiques but i guess it just has to change to reflect a new direction that the sport wants to go in. Hopefully the attendance at the new physique division events will go up and prize money increases.

I hope that remains true ... I don't know what a lot of the current FBB pro's would do to bring down there size with out some kind of transition period.

I am wondering on when they will comment on this for CBBF if the addition will happen next year. I hope so.

well.. I just love them Muscle girls and dont want to see them disappear!.. Other message boards are picking out rock hard figure girls (well rock hard american figure girls which are equivilent to average national level canadian figuregirls) as the ones who will do well in physique.. I HOPE Not! I hope it is Bodybuiilding with a new name.. I hope figures is still hard and tight.. I HATE the idea of watering down this sport.. Ive said it all before.. I stand by it.. Yup 12 year old anorexics and maybe a new division for ladies who really can't get to the gym too often and cant stick to a diet, so it'll be like "moms on a couch" division...

It doesn't matter anyway. Seriously
.. I COMPETE because I like being on stage.. my own little cock stroke, whatever... I work hard and it makes me feel good to show off the hard work!.. I will compete as a BB.. if that isnt there, Ill compete in physique.. if there is nowhere to compete... Ill just post more pics on my facebook and have all my freinds from high school tell me I look fabulous! lol.. it will fill the same need.
..I TRAIN because I love it. I want to grow, I want to get stronger, i love how my body is changing, I love how my inner strength is changing! I love the confidence I have!!

If I have nowhere to COMPETE.. I will still TRAIN... I'll be a bodybuilder, its in my heart, standing on stage, you can't see my heart anyway, so it doesn't really matter!

im over tired and emotional.. sorry. Damned snow and overtime! lol

thats a pretty easy answer...go natural for a year, and voila...probably be too small to win physique.

all it is gonna be is the prettier more feminine body types will win. Still more muscle than what a natural women could get too...especially if they are saying rock hard figure girls are gonna win. Bodybuilding with a new name. |They tried to do this years ago with that 20% rule, but unsuccessfully. They figure they need a whole new name for the division before people listen to what they want, and for it to be easier to enforce on the judging. But still, it just means some girls need to tone it down, and others need to continue doing what they are doing

Disagree. Only because not all women are born small, some actually still get big without the gear. Not freakishly ripped and muscular, but just "big and strong" and when that happens, they too struggle with fitting the "feminine" role that the judges in physique are going to be seeking.

The problem with the way they went about the 20% rule was that it depended more on the women self-regulating themselves than the judges being more strict. Even if that were the case, if all the women didn't go down 20%, placings are still relative. So if all the women disagreed with the rule and went up 100%, someone's still gotta win.
