Other than a good multi-vitamin, whey protein and fish oil, what do you guys think are other supplements worth buying for a bodybuilder??

what supplements do you use?

do you change the supplements you use while being on or off cycle?

Everyone, bodybuilder or not should be taking Alpha Lipoic Acid. A couple quick things about it:

It's one of the few things that is both water and fat soluable and can get into every cell in your body. It is a powerful antioxidant which eliminates free racidals which are waste products created when the body turns food into energy. They cause harmful chemical reactions that can damage cells in the body, making it difficult to fight off infections. They also damage organs and tissues. ALA is also one of the few things that can actually cross the blood-brain barrier and protect the cells in your brain.

Do some research on ALA, it's very worthwhile.

A couple others I would recommend:

- CoQ10
- Vitamin D
- Psyllium Fibre (Taken with plenty of water)

- Creatine

Some beneficial spices you should cook with regularly:
- Tumeric (Overall health aid)
- Cayenne Pepper (Improves Circulation and aids with digestion)
- Oregano (Powerful antioxidant and contains many beneficial minerals)
- Paprika (Antibacterial, Blood Pressure Control, Improved Circulation)
- Nutmeg (Only 1/4 Tspn, Helps with Sleep, Libido and is antibacterial, From Dr.Oz!)
- Garlic (Health benefits if eaten raw, cooked.. not so much)

I also enjoy a nice warm mug of Green Tea or various others once a day. I like to buy them from the Asian shops and get some really nice teas.

Stimulants in general are shit for you. I stay away from all of them.

If you're interested in No2, just buy the L-arginine powder. The companies just fill those jugs up with useless crap, usually stimulants or things that don't do much and then overprice it... Our sponsors here have great prices on quality L-arginine powder.

Oh... It's worth noting that any vitamins, minerals or supplements you use should be taken healthy food, preferably after you eat... If you just down a vitamin or supp with nothing but water, you're basically doing nothing and might as well have flushed the vitamin down the toilet... well, that's exactly what you'll be doing. lol. Google it.

Hope that helps! Everyone has their own favourites, those are some of mine!

Not a fan of a ton of supplements myself. As OP said, multi-vitamin, whey protein and fish oil. I ran creatine for a good while and it worked fine but just didn't like the overall effect it had on me so dropped it.

As far as what works Whey, Creatine Mono and Fishoil are the only supplements I personally feel are worth what they charge. Fibre is great too but its not really a 'supplement' it really just seems to me that most supplements are just another way to get into your pockets.

I prefer to spend my cash on real food and try and keep supplements to a minimum.

Besides fish oil, whey, and a multi, I also use glutamine and bcaa's. Honestly I don't really believe there is much else out there worth spending my money on.

I recently started taking a pure Spirulina tablet everyday with my multi-vitamin and my stomach which has always been touchy has been fine as of late.
Just a recommendation from a friend I thought I'd pass on to you.
Other than just it's anti-ageing benefits, it has a whack of vitamins and some rare fatty-acids.

What multi-vits do you guys take? I read it's bad for you to take synthetic vitamins (centrum and stuff) what would you guys recommend that isn't 50$ a month and is bioavailible? If i'm already taking greens+ from genuine health do I need a multi? So far I take whey, fish oil, creatine and just starting greens+. Would you recommend additional bcaas from what's already in my food and protein? What about glutamine? Thx in advance.

I just did the test with 3 of differents multis (you put the multis into a glass of vinegar. I tested the kirkland, centrum and equate brand (all tabs). They all dissolved in less than 5min.
