I can't believe how intrusive they're becoming. First the X-ray scanner that can see your genitals now a pat down the fondles your genitals.

"New, more intrusive full-body pat-downs are now mandatory for anyone who sets off a metal detector, or refuses to walk through the X-ray scanner, which produces revealing images of the naked body."
Where's the problem??

First, they're viewing your naked body and storing the images. Second, they're touching your privates. All of the "attacks" thus far would not have been prevented by either method.
if you have nothing to hide then dont worry about it. im sure nobody is gonna stockpile pics of your dink buddy so settle down.
if this helps us weed out the ****s that blow up planes then so be it.

This.
Its kinda like a lock on your door. Whether you have a dollar store knob lock or a $500 dead bolt doesn't make much of a difference if someone really wants to get into your house. Locks only keep honest people honest.
More security measures such as full body pat downs and x-ray scanners isn't going to stop someone intelligent who is hell bent on bringing down a plane, its just meant to lull the average traveler into a false sense of security. Sure it pisses of a few, but I think it makes the average person feel safer and that's why they do it. If you remember back to 911, all the x-ray scanners and pat downs in the world wouldn't have made a difference.
an x ray scanner should would detect a shoe bomb, or any other type of explosive placed anywhere on ones body.
whether you agree with them or not is irrelevant. its better to have them than not. nothing is foolproof, but the more "security" the better. pretty simple logic to me.

its cheaper to have an explosive sniffer then a full body scanner, just that the full body scanner is faster. I'd choose the hottest babe to pat me down. :troll

No such luck "The TSA said their pat-down procedure will continue to be conducted by screeners who are the same gender as the passenger." :(

I hope he makes them feel uncomfortable during the "pat down".

It's not a matter of will they stockpile the pictures they already have stockpiled the pictures.
How many people have blown up a plane? Seems like the current measures have been working well. The unfortunate thing is they dot work well when the checks that were implemented prior to these were circumvented. Like the underwear bomber who was escorted on the plane by a sharp dressed man without a passport.

My wife and I had to deal with this full body scanner at Houston Airport. Didn't bother me one bit. If it weeds out one bomber, it has saved hundreds of lives.

they are already been finding other ways of getting bombs and pieces across via Air... it's been all over the news... using UPS etc and smuggling small bombs pieces to certain places so they can make the bombs. They have nothing better to do.

Completely agree.
Just because they say new laws make you safer, does not make it true.

Also, pat downs are not always the same sex as you. I always get pat down by women.
...And then I go to the airport.

Seriously i'm not sure how i'd react if a guy was going to pat down my wife, and i know she wouldn't be comfortable with that either.

Interesting thread here guys...... IMHO all the added security is needed...... BUT...... what really bothers me is that every time an incident happens, we lose a bit more of our personal freedoms..... even after the last wingnut tried to blow up the plane with his underwear( unsuccessfully ) more intrusive measures were added....
So I guess what I'm gettin at is a big part of why these wingnuts do what they do is to provoke a reaction from their intended targets (us).
Because of 1 guy, we all have to go through more shit, and we all doubt our personal safety a bit.
If nobody was scared, there'd be no more terrorism.

I guess if you like having men you don't know prodding your junk & viewing your package ( as in your case ) it could be seen as a bonus.
You gonna elaborate on that comment, or just slink back to the friendly confines of a board where you control the content and the comments? Kinda like the Fox news of the open source board world..............

I just found your comment amuseing is all...
Lets see, you have Guevara as your avi a man you admire by your own admission, have on a number of occasions commented on the evil's of a Capitalist system, have a poster of Castro, masturbate to the image of Mao Tse-tung and you are concerned about looseing some "personal freedoms" due to airport security.?? You have admit thats pretty amuseing.
I'm wandering if you get a lot of headaches, do you? I know if my value's and principle's were up and down like a whore's bajama's as your's seem to be i'd be in a constant state of the worst migrains imaginable.
Now lets see if you can come back with something a bit more thought provokeing than flogging the dead horse about "the board". I doubt it but maybe, just maybe..........

It boils down to math and simple logic really.
If....911 was the worst terrorist attack in American history..... And it killed 3000 people..... As bad as that was, 40k people die every year in car accidents.
Over 3000 people die every year FALLING OFF ****ING LADDERS.
Are we forcing people to take fall arrest courses or pass a test for a ladder licence? NO.
So I guess what I'm getting at is I have never 1 day in my life been more scared of a terrorist than falling off a ladder.
As far as the Avi, if you can dig up a post on any board where I gushed admiration for any person you noted above tell me where to look. Obviously the satire of me choosing that Avi after people like you calling me a communist was way over your head.
I find it comical when somebody with any view other than far right gets labelled a commie by someone from the far right, get it yet? Kinda like when people with no brain at all call Obama a Socialist, then equate that term (Socialist) with Nazi germany lol......
Maybe I'll dig up a Limbaugh Avi, or maybe a nice Glen Beck family values pic to make ya happy............

Men will not "pat down" women, and during a "pat down" no genitals should be touched.
I havent been trolling the board for awhile now, i started working as a CO at our local jail "pat downs" are a regular thing where i work. Not very intrusive at all. Well that is if you have nothing to hide.

I know a guy who was doing weekends there recently......... he says judging from the smell and state of most people in there, the patdowns are not effective at all lol.
Thats gotta be a ****ed up place bro, breaking up fights on a daily basis over brownie's & milk...... Can't even imagine.

Ya the smell takes some getting use to. A pat down is useful if they carry "stuff" outside of their body, which is rarely the case. Breaking up fight's is actually is like working at a bar, well almost. Meh it's a job with a pention and benefits and ocassionally we get to have fun.
