Hi,

Looking to fing new tires for my 05 ram slt with a 6in lift.

Currently I have the Mickey Thompson 5121 Baja ATZs
35 x 13.5 x 20LT

Ive been thinking about the Baja Claw snow/mud Thompsons but Im not sure as I blasted through the tread on these bad boys more quickly than I anticipated.

Anyone have experience here? thinking maybe TOYO Open Country or some IROKs.

Ill order them to the UPS store across the border and go pick'em up as I can save almost $200 per tire that way.

Any help would be appreciated..

Have you tried.....
http://www.tirerack.com and
http://www.1010tires.com/

I have found them helpful in the past when looking for reviews.

Where are you located? Northsore Offroad in BC has been very good to deal with for me... Everything I've ordered from them was way cheaper than local even after shipped to my door.

I run the atz in a 36x15.5 on my Superduty but for a smaller winter tire I think i'm going to run Goodyear Duratracs this year, have put them on a few of my buddies trucks and they are awesome in the winter.
Toyo's are good looking tire and all but they don't hook up well in wet conditions

I've had both the Toyo Mts and the Mickey MTZ. my experience was the mickeys' lasted twice as long as the toyos

For a good winter tire , I like to run bf all terrains , they are good on ice and snow but are useless in mud\clay :D

Costco is another alternative. Not as good as tirerack for all-in price but warranty and free puncture repair are not bad if you're still paying someone for installation and tire rotation. Michelin is offering 70 bucks off 4 tires at Costco right now as well.

Just a heads-up you're still going to expected to pay duty if you`re bringing the tires across the border in the back of your truck. if you`re not declaring at border then don`t use your credit card.

Someone I know went into buffalo to install tires, came over the border with nothing to declare and they made him pay duties because they looked up his credit card history and told him he purchased the tires from a US tire store and that he had fitted across the border.

Thought I`d share his story - I didn`t even know for a border guard looking at credit card transactions was legal. There is no more privacy is there.
