I wouldn't have no more than 1 or 2 yolks a day.Your daily total cholesterol is 300mg max per day,and 1 egg 170-200's depending on the size i would have to look at my Nutritionist books for exact numbers it been almost two years since i finished the schooling. You produce the stuff from stress, and gear plays with it,so it not the smart thing to do.

Actually, dietary cholesterol has very minimal effect on blood cholesterol. Insulin is the determining factor for overproduction of cholesterol in the body. So if you are worried about your cholesterol then hold off on the high GI carbs.

Egg salad is one of my weaknesses. It's so easy to polish off several eggs at once when turning them into egg salad. I try to console myself with the fact that I use low fat mayo....:D

Very true you don't want all 12 yolks at once.I had 1 yolk for every 3 to 4 eggs off-season,but when i did my shows i had 1 yolk for every 6 eggs.

I usually have 1 yolk with 5 egg whites in a scramble.

I'm having it right now with oatmeal. It's my usual breakfast and I eat it all the while dreaming of egg salad......:o

Pre-contest cut them out but offseason we go through ALOT of whole eggs....its cheap and easy. We add them to shakes, we hard boil them and carry them around all day (man they stink). We even drink them like Rocky, but usually only on a dare!

I eat about 10-12 eggs a day on average monday to Friday. Weekends I usually have less. One young friend of mine is on 24 eggs a day with a gallon of milk. Huge gains, but even huge-er farts!

I'm up to 4 to 6 a day, I make a shake with 2 whole eggs, milk, and a bit of chocolate or strawberry syrup. Cheap and easy way to get 35 grams of protein..... not to mention all the other nutrients you get from it.

I love whole eggs. Eat em often but for sure cut them out before a show.
No health worries though about eating them.

because of the fat content in the yolks? I've also heard that they cause water retention, any truth in that?

You won't hold any water.I did my Nutritionist course a couple years back, and there wasn't anything i read about that. But things do change in the books every 5 years.
