first of all its my firstr experience in canada! something to start with...somethings was really surprising for me...expencive registration, assistanses not allowed (my wife always helped me before because i feel frustrated and can't organize my self :) ) , tickets for the show are expencive too...
i was impressed how many competitors! 94!!! and thanks for organisators they start registration with heavy weight! :) so 15 min and done! bad thing is that schedule was ready only next day so you have to be there at 9 to check it out...i competed at 12.45... only 5 guys in my class! :)
stage was really small-that was surprise too! and the light is far from perfect...but the athmosphere is great!
i have couple pics but my camera is really bad...anyways i can post some from morning show...

What's up with the ABBA folk? Not much info on this show at all. I found some pics creeping facebook but no results. Nothing compared to OPA shows.

Kai Green Guest Posing vids. I'm posting it for those that are interested in viewing it. Not for an opportunity to say something bad about him.

For those who don't know, this show is called the MuscleBeach Fall Classic, and it's promoted by Ty, the owner of the Muscle Beach shops here in Edmonton. He always puts on a great show and brings in a sick guest poser. Dex, Gunter, Kai, Nasser, etc, ever since the show started back in 99 or so. Always a top pro there.

It's a Level 1 show, so there is no previous qualifier. You do get the odd competitor who is totally out of their league, but that's level 1, and sometimes they have a good story to tell or a reason they are there.

The show was bigger than ever, and went really well. The top 5 in each class qualify for Provincials in June.

The other Level 1 shows, are the Northerns and Southerns held in June, right before Provincials. Usually those two shows are much bigger and a little tougher because there are often many people doing them with the intention of trying to win Provincials 2 weeks later, so it does bring up the depth and quality of those show.

The stage is a bit small at that venue, but the lighting is actually pretty good compared to other venues I've been to over the years. At least the room is really dark and the stage is black, so there is a lot of contrast. A little uneven on the sides, but when you pose in the middle of the stage, you look really good. It's the Citadel Theatre here in Edmonton, and it's a really nice venue. Kinda classy compared to high school gyms, etc, that some Level 1 shows elsewhere get held.

I remember doing Provincials there in 99 when I won the Overall, so I always enjoy going back there a bit. It's also where the 1999 Nationals were held.

Congrats to all the competitors and volunteers, and thanks to Ty for bringing in Kai. The crowd loved him.

Cheers
Ron

As I've mentioned before. I welcome the organizations to promote their shows here. OPA stuff seems to be promoted well on the net but the other provinces are lacking imo. The more they are out there in different areas, the more interest will be generated.

And I saw your post about **cough cough** pics of the show. Got any of the guys in the show? Rather lacking. I took a shot in looking for some but since it's a level 1 show with no results posted, I don't know who to look for :/

I would just like to add quick note here, MB was my first show ever, I coulda and shoulda came in a lot harder and drier, BUT my nerves blew me out 3 weeks before show and I started self destructing in diet to sabotoge myself into not doing the show!, And now that it is over I am already on track for june Masters at the Northerns, I am more motivated than I have ever been, it was the best experience I have ever had other than my kids. And I am going in dry, hard and and giving it all I have. And I want to make mention the people I met made the majority of my wanting to compete again stronger than ever, the crew at the back and the people I met athat show were were fu*&$%@ amazing, and too all the volunteers, My hat off to you and thanks for the experience of a lifetime, see you again in June, I will be the ripped guy ha ha ha ha, Proud new member and soon to be a contender.

Hey Rodzilla, don't beat yourself up. It's a long road and you did it! Give yourself a pat on the back. You got up on that stage, you have learned and will grow from your experiance!! It is definately a great atmosphere and alot of great people back there.
