4spd tranny and both primary and seconday chain drives,this is the "last" of a dying breed..............nothing sounds like a shovel.Harley took a different approach with the rubber mounted EVO engines,5&6 gears not to mention belt drives in the mid 80's bikes and the cookie cutter Harley was born.
Not bashin the evo's or the new stuff as I'm sure a few members have,fast and shiny and no leaks and no pushin........I have pushed more than once.Up hill is a nice on the Quads.
