Have you always been an active person - did you play sports in your youth?
Yes, but was overweight as a child/adolescent.

What made you get into bodybuilding competitions?
I began going to a gym at the age of 16 because I was overweight (200+lbs). The gym owner approached me about becoming involved in powerlifting which I did from 17-20. I was introduced to a few local bodybuilders who convinced me to give bodybuilding a shot. I did my first competition in 1998 and have been involved in the sport ever since.

Have you competed in other categories as well?
I have been light, middle and heavyweight.

How has the sport impacted your life?
I have gained much respect and admiration, developed as an athlete as well as an individual, but have had to make many personal and professional sacrifices.

Favorite foods for dieting?
Chicken, cottage chesse, cashews, peanut butter.

For cheating?
Cereal, cheese, ice cream, chocolate.

Whey protein.

What is a typical day for you when prepping for a show?

meal prep
cardio
breakfast
work
3 meals through out workday

What do you find the most difficult about this sport?
The expenseS along with the time and dedication that has to be devoted.

Do you have any tips or advice to give to ladies who are thinking of trying out the sport?
Hire a qualified and experienced trainer who wilL assist you up to AND after the competition.
