Probably good to do this wbbf shows, whatever the category is. I'm sure you get good exposure and meet some people in the industry.
I was thinking about doing it, but they look so ****ing stupid and cheesy, I'd rather not be a model than look like an idiot lol

you'd be surprised how big and lean the guys on the covers of some magazines are - relative to ronnie coleman on the cover, they might look like twigs, but most of those 'fitness models' would make a crazy light heavy bodybuilder without the crazy legs.

Steve D:
Actualy to be honest when i went to the North Americans, I was told to focus on fitness modeling so you are right.
OP: Imo you are ripped but you need learn to make your midsection look more mainstream. The way you have it sucked in, yah, you are ripped however it is unappealing for the cover of a magazine
Also lets see some direct face shots. Do you have any modeling experience or a portfolio, that includes pics taken by more than one reputable photographer?
It looks like you have delibertly not posted any. Lets face it, if you don't have a "look" ... 'model type mug' it doesn't matter how ripped you are.
Your face has to be a 10/10... abs can be airbrushed to look better... just look at that wrestlers abs on the cover of last months muscle and fitness...but face really can't be altered that much

Definitely lean! What do your legs look like? I would make sure that your training is well rounded and you have the major lifts in there. I think that WBFF is a good idea - if you place in top 3 you get a lot of exposure.

I was lucky enough to be born with a 'look' bro. The fact that I had many major modeling agency saying 'yes' to me when I was 19, and have made good cash off my looks for years supports that. The problem is I live in Winnipeg, and it cost money to go away to work...
In order to build a reputation and a portfolio you have to 'be there'. That means uprooting and moving to where the work is, which is not Winnipeg. For me when I was younger, that would have meant moving to europe, starving for about a year while I went to castings hoping to be chosen out of a lineup of 20 or 30 other boys who had a 'look'. I was not willing to suck cock or bend over so I knew right away I wasn't gonna get a head too quickly doing that. I also was never into anorexia, more like bigarexia, so keeping my frame small enough to fit into a size 40 jacket was contrary to who I was as a person.
Eventually you build up enough work in your portfolio that people know you and call your agency requesting you by name. That's when you actually begin to live the life and make the cash.... but that takes a huge investment of time, living in squalar, starving, and possibly giving a lot of head or worse along the way.
Never wanted to be a model, was approached regarding it. I have had enough shoots done over the years and worked with enough photographers to know how to hold my head, angle my chin e.t.c for the best shots...
Its funny because now things have come full circle... I was told at the North Americans not to get any bigger...just to get to california and get seen as much as possible, and focus on the print work, not the trophies.
But to sum, I do have a 'look'... thats not to say that I am better then everyone else... thats just to say I am lucky to have a unique look that comes off well in photos... but I guess even luckier is that I have not aged, and continue to age very well.

Cool bro, i know you have a good look, i was just being dorkish and having fun....I think you are a good bodybuilder, But i honestly think for you to be an outstanding BBer, you would have to foresake some of that look, and thats what will hold you back from the big card....You care for yourself in that respect....Not saying the pros, and top national guys are ugly, i am saying that many of them have the genes to be big like that without destroying themselves....For you to achieve it, would need more sacrifices...BUT, you have the genes to have that LOOK, and you have a great physique....Why fight it, why not go get the pro card in another organization, run with it dude, do what your genetics are telling you and others with good eyes are telling you to do.....Your love and passion for this sport are very noticeable, just do what makes you satisfied and a better person in life...DONT let it get you miserable and hating the sport after many yrs to come, like we so often see..
That is just my humble opinion....

Meh, I compete against the best. That is what I do. Keep in mind I got into this sport at 27 years of age, and look how far I have come in such a short time.
Infact, people know me in Manitoba for one thing, I'm the guy who continuously makes noticeable gains on a yearly basis. Last year wasn't a very good year for gains IMO, as I only had from about December to Feb to train without worrying about calorie intake, as I started casually dieting in March.
I was so beat up from wakeboarding all last summer long that I had to heal up my owies first... bad shoulder, bad knees, and bad bicepts/ brachiolies from getting tugged by the boat.
This year I'll have a full off season to train, and I have some new strategies I'm putting in... new training programs, new 'ancillary' stragies that are top secret ha ha.
With all that said from last year to this year, i still put on 1/2 inch on my arms which I was pretty satisfied with, and gained about 5 lbs of lean muscle.. I usually gain about 7 or so a year so not bad. This coming year though I am pretty sure I will put on another 10 lbs.
Like I have said... It is just a matter of time. The judges saw me and liked me last year... EVERYbody who is anybody in the sport all agreed I have a promising future. The onus is on me now to show up next year 10 lbs of muscle heavier and in the same great shape.
That's how the game works bro... It's all about improvements... If you don't make any you are overlooked. If I show up 10 pounds heavier, all of a sudden I am the next big up- and-coming thing.
The key for me is doing it in such away that I don't sacrifice my health and my looks or waistline.
