Yesterday our infamous Canadian Government ruled in favor of dairy cow producers, that no one can use the word "MILK" on any label.

So for you customers that use Cytosport products, soon you wont be able to find the following products, muscle milk, muscle milk rtds, monster milk, monster milk rtds. (unless of course the store trys to import from the USA)

You will however be able to buy a Canadian version. That will be spelled Muscle MLK.

Lame i know.

That is rediculous!!! Also Rediculous that muscle milk can't be shipped over the border anymore!! Stupid ass rules. I was getting tons of it from Bodybuilding.com cause it was only fourty-some bucks for a 5lb'er but they can't ship it anymore. Apparently it's because of an ingredient in the US blend called L-Carnitine or something like that......LAME!

Meh. If you were a dairy farmer you might want the same thing.

I personally think if gov't removed the restrictions and taxes it has on the dairy farmers and allowed the product to be sold on an open and free market we wouldn't need such things.

not entirely true. musclemilk is still owned and produced by Cytosport.

all pepsi bought was the rights to distribute muscle milk rtds.

Yah pepsi and coke are looking to get a protein rtd in the vending machines in North America especially in the school system. From what ive heard this increase demand for protein rtd for the machines is what is driving up the cost on whey because of the HIGH demand.

I heard muscle milk contains heavy metals or is made by cows that listen to heavy metal or something like that.

Here are the facts:

FDA tested Muscle Milk after Consumer Reports - they found no heavy metals. I think I would believe the FDAs tests before Consumer Reports
"Milk" in the name is not permitted thanks to Parmalat (milk board) so the government is cracking down. Soya milk had this same problem - this is why you see products like Silk, So Good...etc. No more "milk" in the name.
The new Canadian version is classified as a meal replacement so it doesn't require a NPN and is also sold tax free - no GST, no PST and no HST.
Has nothing to do with heavy metals, L-Carn...etc - solely a label issue.

Our gov't should probably focus more on deporting known illegal alien terrorists rather than banning labels.

Unreal.

I was just trying to be funny. I also believe that if consumer reports would have tested regular food that everyone would be surprised with what would be found in it. It might be better for us not to know.

One thing that is sure every time I hear muscle milk I think of that article and every time I hear maple leaf foods I think of listeria.

Since they had to change their name you would think they would change it to something different then muscle mlk so they could get rid of the negative connotations associated with the consumer reports article.

Federal
I actually knew that. I just wanted someone else to say it before I could.

So, where are all you Harper lovers talking about what a wonderful PM he is for allowing such bullshit to become a priority focus for our Gov't when as Jersey says (also a Harper supporter) there are so many other issues that are more important for these ****tards to spend their time on?

Come on guys... lets hear your love for the man

You don't actually think Harper took the time to ponder the issue of haveing milk on a label do you? He's too busy finding known terrorists and deporting them.:D Its the bureaucrat's that set these annoying policies, they're the one's that really run the country.

Kind of funny to read all these posts about what our government should be focusing on.

You guys do know there are like a dozen major gvt departments right? If you count all the agencies it's closer to 100.

Health Canada takes care of the supplement industry do you think they should take on immigration instead of Citizenship and Immigration Canada and take care of drug dealers on the streets too instead of cops?

I understand some of you are pissed and some of this seems stupid but most of the time it's because we don't have the full story, sure sometimes stupid laws are put in for bad reasons but we will never get that changed by making silly arguments.

Lol. I heard they were going to do this. People amaze me. What a bunch of idiots. complete waste of time. I can't believe the dairy cow producers actually made an issue out of this.

I heard that it wsnt the dairy producers that had a problem with using the word milk on the labels, it was the cows themselves!! They threatened a strike and the producers had to go to bat for them...
