There is a kernel of truth, naturally, BUT:

I live in Verdun. Montreal bros. will know what I'm talking about: LAZY ASS WHITE TRASH "HAVE A BABY AT 18 TO GET MORE WELFARE" CASES is what I see every day. Spend the rent cheque (Our tax $$$) at the VLT's. Depanneurs are cleared out of beer on the 1st of the month.

Only people that work around here are...the Chinese that have moved here in increasing numbers.

Even I am offended by that post. Every new comer I've met has been hardworking, loyal and really honest. I don't live in a port city, so maybe thats different. I am unaware that you can get welfare as a refugee or come to Canada without work otherwise.

i didnt post it to bash anyone. but alot of it is the truth!
it happens everyday.

hell look at the tamil refugees that landed in victoria, all of them are already getting free health care, food and lodging. yes it might be in the jail but still.
you watch half of them will get refugee status.

i dont disagree with the above poster eitehr, that there is alot of white trash all across canada just popping out kids, and bleeding the welfare system dry.
welfare should be payable only in food stamps(registered to the persons name so they cant sell them) and their bills should be paid. no way they should get a check each month to spend as they please.
also they should be drug tested. caught doing drugs, bye bye welfare.

A house on my street was busted for having 14 people living in it. Its a 4 bedroom house. It was breaking several bylaws, but its a cultural thing. When you come from a slum and you get free money, you tend to bring the slum with you.

that's nothing you should see how they pack people in houses in rural areas. I think it was in Dryden that the house was condemned after the occupants were evicted. Neighbours complained about smell for 2 years, the lawyers hired played the race card until the judge ordered a video of the dwelling. The house was condemned when the Sheriff's office couldn't enter the house due to odour. 20 occupants were put into 4 different low income houses.

Im not trying to sound racist here rather factual, but anywho I already work at a job where im one of the only white guys and more then likely one of the only white guys born IN CANADA add on to that almost everyone else makes 10 bucks more then me per hour AND does MAYBE 1/2 the work I do plus shows up late, is lazy ect. I hate Welfare. It's over abused, it creates lazy mofo's. The one's on welfare breed like rabbits, they grow up and follow in the parents footsteps. Thus creating more lazy mofo's that are just taking up space, not contributing to society. Welfare should be regulated. I like the testing for drug's idea. That would probably get rid of 80% of welfare cheques. Also, I belive a person should not be on welfare for no longer than 2 years. Use that time to better yourself find a job and start contributing to society. If you got nothing done for yourself in those two years, oh well, cut the cord. This would probably encourage people to get off their lazy ass'es and do something.

I know a girl who made the decision to have a baby, quite her job and live off of welfare. It was kind of humorous because once she got on welfare and told me how much they were giving her I thought she was joking, she was making about twice what she was at her old part time retail job. Most of it was baby related bonus's, they even paid her nearly as much for the babys "room and board" as they did for hers...

She went out shopping and bought herself lots of nice new things and declared that she would never work again. I haven't talked to her since.

The system is broken, I agree with everyone who says they need a definite cut off date, and as long as employers are legally allowed to drug test employees, everyone on welfare should be subjected to the same tests.

As for the original poem, its all white trash and natives abusing the system around here. All the immigrants I know put the effort into coming here because they wanted to be paid fairly for working and wanted a better standard of living. To be honest I didn't even know immigrants could get welfare.

Another interesting law that should be made is if you are a Woman on welfare and have more than one kid you must have a Hysterectomy. Why should tax payers have to pay them more for each kid they have. I'm getting really devolish here.

I know, hence why I was saying I was getting devolish. I just know some familes from my home town that disgust me. Four ladies were on welfare each had 4 children, they grew up learning the morals of their mother's and went I believe 6 of those children are now on welfare and have 2-4 kids each. It's painful to watch. I'm just bitter.

Its self perpetuating too because as they follow this path they lose the respect and influence of normal hard working people and make friends with fellow welfare bums. Once they are surrounded by a community of welfare bums where its perfectly acceptable to behave like this there isn't even any real pressure to change.

To get unemployment insurance (which indicates you were recently a productive contributing member of society) you need to submit regular proof that your currently looking for work, and regardless of the situation they cut you off after a certain period. This is an uncomfortable situation. Welfare should be more like this. Welfare seems to be a pretty comfortable situation.

I have known a few people on welfare, the only time the outcome was positive was when my mom was raising 3 kids on her own while going to university and living off welfare and student loans. The result is that she's now a successful productive member of society and is paying more a year in tax's then welfare was paying her.

Everyone else I knew on welfare was just a bum abusing the system.

I agree 100%, but it seems the people using the system as it was intended are the minority. Its really to bad that so many bad apples give everyone using the system such a bad name.

And thanks, shes a huge inspiration for me. Anytime I ask myself "can I do this" I just remind myself of what she did and how much harder that was than anything I'm likely to ever encounter in my life and then the answer is always "**** yea I can do this".

I remember back when I was in my early 20's I got layed off from a job after 2-3 months so I could not get UI/EI and when cash started to get tight and the job market was slow I went to the welfare office and oh my ****ing lord it was FULL...I MEAN PACKED FULL with single moms and there little ****ing monsters and strollers. The office itself was huge, but was packed wall to wall with people and I swear I was one of the FEW white guys in there.

So after a 2 hours of sitting and listening to all these bastard kids screaming and crying and listening to all sorts of ****ing languages I couldn't understand I got called in the office only to find out the only help I could get was a grocery coupon for 60 bucks a week and 300 bucks a month for rent, BUT I couldn't even get the 300 for rent because my rent was over that limit and they wouldn't even let me have it to put towards my rent.

That was when I really understood how the world works and after I told welfare to suck my ****ing balls I went to Labor Ready and was able to make 70 bucks a day/6 days a week and that was enough to get me rent and food.....saved my ass really.

Now when I see those mother****ing lazy pieces of shit people begging for money on street corners or in traffic (people who look PERFECTLY healthy) It makes me want to spit on them.

People give out cash, but I hand out Labor Ready business cards to those lazy pieces of shit and MAN that really pisses em off lol.
