Any idea if there are any guard jobs paying more than $12-13/hr?
What are some of the better companies to work for?
Which do you find better working as condo security or is commercial/corporate security better?

Why anyone becomes a security guard is beyond me, join the cops and be done with it.

you're assuming a lot... it can just be a second job for a person who has no ambitions of being a cop.

or the fact it may be less stressful at times/dangerous... someone may be only looking for part time and or little extra cash/ retiring etc the list goes on.

The only guys I know that make decent/good money in security went to College for Law and Security. Some of those jobs are harder to get than becoming a cop. For example my wife's cousin works security at a nuclear power plant. He makes good money.

An armoured company is your best bet, maybe 17-20 an hour. My buddy wroks at the Chalk River plant 80k a year there.
Over the last 10-15 years i've been in and out of the Security industry, Armed guard and personal security paid the best. Now i just work events for free concerts and extra cash when i have time.

I have a security guard license. i'm doing condo security and the guards i've talked to say $12-13 is the upper limit for residential security.

Almost every guard i've met or worked with wanted to be a cop. Really your not going to make a living in security unless you own the company, get a trade imho, or join the Army.
