Hi, my name is Hayden Vandenberg. Recently me and my twin brother Ches Vandenberg were in a car accident. I was driving. I'm completely fine i know whoevers reading this probably doesnt care but my brother got severe injuries to his arm. There is no shoulder damage, i dont think theres any elbow or tendon damage. His arm got badly cut up, large lacerations to his bicep, tricep and a bit of laceration to his upper wrist There is however a bit of nerve damage to his hand but hes moving it fine and they say he'll make a full recovery there.

Well anyways... were 18, huge gym enthusiasts. Were into strength training, him especially into powerlifting such as dead lifts, clean and jerks, squats, bench press. But pretty much we both enjoy working our full body.

I feel like shit... i ruined his ability to work out for a long period of time. I was wondering if anyone would know any special routines, specific workouts or something like that that could help him maintain his strength to areas such as his shoulders, chest, and back while he waits for his arm to recover. Any help would be greatly appreciated

If his injuries are that bad, he needs to be under the guidance of a physiotherapist for most upper body work. He can however keep his legs up which will go a long way into helping him keep mass on during recovery. Deads would be out for a buit due to the strain on his arms, but squats in a squat machine, leg press, extansions and curls as well as calf raises, will help him keep in the mental game.

yeah i figured so, thanks man. Also ive heard from a couple ppl i know that working one side of the body may help in a small way with the dystrophy to the other side. I know it will create an imbalance but would that be a good idea at all?
