I have been working out for the past 5 years off and on. Every single person i have ever talked to in the gym has told me i should never arch my back when bench pressing, but every power-lifter i watch doing the bench press has a deep arch in their back. I was just wondering why this is done, is it safe, and does it allow you to push more weight?

Exactly as described in the video is how u should bench. I get more negative feedback on my bench because I arch then anything. Everytime I read a comment about it all I can think of is they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.
