View Full Version : Distended Belly!

Now I don't get this, though it's been talked about amongst BBs enough. I've always been lean & mean and this summer I am going even leaner & lighter than usual. BUT, like last year, my ****ing gut won't shrink. It's hard as a rock and even has a four-pack, so there's no fat on the outside, but it sticks out like the beer belly of a trucker (okay, I exaggerate). I do extra sit-ups of all kinds. I'm running Tren, EQ, & Test at a medium dose. I try to just hold it in, but can't keep it up. I do have a sway-back spine and that is certainly no help, but the gut still used to still get smaller

I figure the cause is one of three things, but I appreciate any input:

1. My age is catching up with me, but I know other guys my age who can still manage a flat board.

2. Drinking. I don't drink a lot but something like a Strongbow cider a day plus wine with dinner. Could that be causing visceral fat?

3. Last year I ran a fairly high dose of kefei GH. My face grew fleshy like never before and my gut seemed to get bigger & stay stuck out. Since then, my face has leaned out again, but I never seemed to really lose the distended gut. So I don't know if GH effects are permanent or not.

Any help would be sincerely appreciated!

You need to diet for a very long time to get rid of visceral fat. Unfortunately, the constant feeding of a bodybuilding diet helps to build up large amounts of fat behind your abs.

I dont think it wil be the gh, unless you ran high doses for a real long time, the reasoning behind gh gut is growth of internal organs, that takes a long time, if it does really occur...
Age, i dont know about that either, lots of lean older fellows and youre definitely a harder worker and more knowledgeable of your body than the average person...I believe that it wouldnt be an obstacle....
How are your bowel movements etc, without getting to personal, do you believe it could be full intestines and therefore backing everything up and possibly making you protrude more than normal....I would try a clean out regiment....If you need help i may be of assistance, other than that i dont know what to think...

I'd go with your first idea.

Intra abdominal fat is another possibility. As KoN said the visceral fat likes to hang on longer than the normal body fat. You probably just need to keep your body fat low and keep doing your cardio for a longer period of time.

lol at anyone thinking 'stuffed up intestines' If that is happening then you get septic shock and die your body does not store feces in there

I suggest taking in 50-100g a day of psyllium fibre husks. You can pick up this supplement in "powder" (or sawdust) form at bulk barn for very little money.

Since I have been using this fibre source daily I have actually noticed a distinct reduction in the size of my belly. I have lost at least a half inch in my waist according to all the jeans and shorts that I wear with zero changes to my calorie intake.

Seriously, try this stuff. Dont be shy. Go big with it, and watch how many MASSIVE dumps you will take in the first week. I dare you.

Try dropping the booze and see if that is affecting anything. If it does, then you could have a yeast allergy.

Lots of good advice and things for me to think about here. (Not so sure about vakker's comment, though; look at Stallone in the upcoming "Expendables" — the guy is four years older than I am.)

I really could diet more wisely & even drink less. Cardio is becoming harder, but I have always known how important that is.

But it's also true that with the large amounts of whey protein I drink with milk, eggs, etc., I do have indigestion problems and it takes a while to pass through.

Guess I'll try a less fatty diet, maybe no alcohol, and I'll dive face-first into those yummy psyllium fibre husks. Just hope the plumbing is up to it!

Thanks, guys.

P.S. Comments on my natural fur coat are unnecessary.

I periodically take 5 tablespoons each of phsyllium, ground flax and whole chia seeds. 15 tablespoons total daily. That will keep things moving in a healthy way.

^^ yes very true. anyone who doesnt use a greens supplement IMO is crazy. especially anyone who lifts or does any sort of physical activity. eating veggies sucks, drinking them ROCKS!

Well, sheeit, after the generous compliments (except the damned gut does look worse from the side — swayback, y'know), I'm going to go have me a few Strongbow ciders and prepare to eat a pound of hamburgers, with cheese. Doesn't mean life is over at 60, but workouts do ache a lot longer. (Nice to be noticed when so many guys beginning the late autumn years of life just sink into becoming part of the furniture.)

But, thanks, I have just ordered both psyllium fibre husks and the Progressive Vege Greens. My fear now izzat just when I'm pushing that last big lift on the diagonal bench press, the uncontrollable gas release kills everyone near me.
