This kid trains with John Broz. These guys use a Bulgarian system that uses little or no accessory work except for injury rehab. They practice the core lifts at very high percentages every day and some times twice a day.

Specificity of training in the extreme.

Thats some serious poundages and deep ass squating. Thats the definition of hardcore IMO. Not exactly the way i train but intensity through the roof none the less.

LOL so tru nate that is a vicous rep without a doubt. But i geuss when the goal is to move maximal weight in time it is acceptable but looks to be very demanding on the joints. I wonder if injury and CNS burnout is a problem with this Bulgarian type of training due to high weight repetitious compound movements.

I'm starting to think that you don't become elite by doing what everyone else is doing.

Not to take away from how amazingly strong this kid is, but Olympic lifters have to at least be careful with their usage around the Olympics where this guy might have shot 5g of T in his ass this morning.

He's still got years of growing though, ****ing only 19. Does anyone know what the "peak" age for Olympic weight lifters is? I would think with a few years of growing and an Olympic coach to teach him how to juice like an Olympian he could be on the American team.

He is already outlifting the american team.

As he isn't training under within the sanctioning body of the us federation he is also not at any risk of testing. His coach is pretty anti-drugs but I also have doubts.

His coach lived and trained with Antonio Krastev so I'm sure he picked up a thing or two about drugs. Also the guy could be taking stuff on his own and just not telling anyone about it. With the amount of training sessions those guys put in with the Bulgarian style training program I almost think they need drugs just to prevent burnout. Who knows though...either way he's a freak of nature.

This is an interview with his coach: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwN9SqqIRAk

youre making gear sound like be all end all of determining this kids potential. thousands of 19 year olds could be given crank but only an elite few will push themselves through the training, dedication, lifestyle and diet this kid endures.

diet? See Food. This kid is an absolute monster if he makes the transition into the olympic program without being completely ****ed up by the U.S. lifting program they might actually win a medal for the first time in 50 years.

i think if it was that easy then everyone would just shoot 5g of T, that kid looks like he is pushing himself to a limit that very few people understand, with or without the gear.

I'm a realist and I don't believe anyone who's winning Olympic weight lifting medals hasn't taken something, its part of the game IMO. You need world class genetics, training, determination and gear to play that game. Olympic lifters have to worry about being tested and this kid doesn't so while he may be out lifting many of them now, if he was subject to the same testing as them he might need a couple years of maturing before he is out lifting them in competition.

It was not my intention in any way to undermine his achievements, are you kidding me? This guy is 19 and making world class lifts, I don't care what you are or aren't taking most people couldn't achieve this at any age or with any amount of experience.

I can't imagine this guy isn't going to make it to the Olympics if that's the route he wants to go.

That kid is seriously working. Regardless of if he is taking anything, that amount of work is what seperates the "wannabes" from the "I have achieved" crowd. I can see him winning gold easily.

Most elite athletes have dabbed into the world of juice, been there done that and i have seen it with my own eyes. I totally agree with what you're saying. That kid is built to be big, his bone structure, height etc, you can't change that in a normal person. If you find another kid with that naturally large bone structure and proper leverage I have no doubt that he could push big weights. Genetics is not only about 'muscles potential' its every aspect of your body.

People say juice is not going to make much of a difference which is total bullshit unless you're talking about giving juice to someone that has no idea what they are doing. Once someone at the semi-elite level is EVERYTHING down pat, and then they add juice they will see impressive gains.

Oly lifting is a lot like swimming (couple of my buddies are swimmers, 1 went to the olympics '08), every day training, 2x a day some times (all the time for swimmers). People get weeded out, most people burn out and cant handle it. Some people can handle it naturally (VERY FEW AT THE ELITE LEVEL) and the others (most people) have to resort to some sort of performance aid to make it.

So squatting sick weight that deep IS POSSIBLE. **** I love watching people squat huge weight deep as ****.

"Its not possible to push huge weight past parallel. It puts too much stress on your knees."

BULLSHIT.
