This looks like it might be fun on cranky shoulder days. Easier to get on and off than a shirt.

I don't really get this. Isn't it just doing what your muscles should be doing? Muscles are elastic too. lol Looks neat but I'm not sold on it just yet. Interested in seeing reviews from credible people about its applications. I'd like to see a guy put on a canvas shirt and that now before he breaks the new world record in a new class. lol I've never been a big fan of bench shirts myself. This gives a better visual at just how dumb it is to count numbers with gear on imo. I prefer raw powerlifting that I can relate too. Interesting though and thanks for posting it up.

Dumb or not dumb when my shoulders are all buggered up having something like this might be pretty nice for rehab work. I'd prefer a shirt but the are a bugger to get on by yourself.

Yeah for sure, if it helps with that then absolutely.

225lbs for reps would be fun! Might help with explosiveness.

It looks like its kinda like training with chains only the weight curve comes from the slingshot. I'd try heavy singles with it also. It would bring up my raw numbers I bet. Kinda like doing lockouts with a full range taking advantage of the explosive aspect at the bottom if that makes any sense.
lol
I might actually buy one of these just to see for myself.

I bet it would help a lot with close grip as well. Failure comes fast there and this would help kill the tri's on close grip getting through the midpoint and concentrating on lockout. They'd have to make a narrow one specifically for close grip though.

I realize I totally contradicted myself from the first post but it might very well have some effective applications now that I think about it more.

Just don't count your 1rep max while wearing that. lol I also have this fear of having to see guys wear it through an entire workout. lol

I thought i recognized the name of that guy Mark Bell. Bigger Faster Stronger documentary he was in it with his brothers. I watched the vid on the sling shot and although it looks good for PL i just prefer natural raw bench for my BB purposes. I try to limit my use of shirts, belts, straps, wrist supports unless im really in need of them.

raw powerlifting is a plague of planet earth... powerlifting is meant for gear, training is meant to be raw... unless you don't like getting hurt then gear in trainnig is good too..

Mark gave me one at a meet last month and we have been using it at westside on speed work days to handle more wieght... so with some like me was using 275 plus bands for work, i would be using 315 ish for the same rep scheme

it takes about 40 or 50 off the bottom of a lift and does have a the shoulders and elbows a lot of abuse

I could see it being useful in keeping the elbows tucked. Plenty of guys have a tendency to flair the elbows out to 90 degress at the sticking point - me included.
It would also be somewhat like doing reverse band BP's, so you obtain the overload in the last half of the lift. Sort of like you were saying w/chains Japh.

Does someone know where to order them from yet and at what cost? This just might be the the beginning of me going over to the darkside and pressing more than 405.lol Always stopped there for fear of injury after my first torn pec. lol

Thanks, would you recommend one as a traing tool? This would be my first training tool. My gym does not have plank, bands, etc etc

i think this would be a lot more valuable then boards... bands is something that eveyrone should have!!!! but that is a different story haha
