Called the dealership for parts today. They quoted me $200. Looked on the internet, same parts shipped from the U.S. $80.
Damn Rapists.

Everyone knows you NEVER go to the stealership for parts.
I order everything state side unless I find a canadian company that carries it.

Only 1 BMW dealership in Manitoba and they take full advantage. I can wait a few days for my parts. I need to replace my belts and it's time to replace the pulleys as well.

which do you drive?
Did you pick that M6 you were talking about?
T its not only BMW, same thing at the chrysler dealer ship they wanted to charge me 200$ for rear brake pads. I picked them up for 40$ and changed them myself.
the worst part is they didn't want to let me leave the dealership telling me its unsafe to drive my car like that. when i took off the pads they weren't even bad. ****ing dealer ships just try to screw you over.

Next time, I'll probably buy a used civic. Had my bmw for a little over 10 years and it's a wonderful car but there are a lot better ways to spend money. Like a shelby cobra replica or 10 trips to cuba.

I haven't yet.
Finding it hard to justify the $120K price tag. Growing up dirt poor I tend to horde on to money like a fat kid does his skittles.

I don't ever buy brand new though, as its not worth it. I wait for them to return off lease. Getting her a 2007 or a 2008 4.8I, either white or titanium silver with the M package ... the Y-spoke wheels... can grab one for about $55,000, with fairly low kms... I have a dealer looking for the right one to come off lease all across Canada. Gonna trade in her sedan to help with the down payment.
You can keep a high-end vehicle looking brand new for year just by simply taking care of it, and from time to time updating the front end a little or buying a new set of smoked tail-lights, like I have done for my 2004 Vw Tourarg. People look at that trunck and always ask me if its brand new.
The one thing I have realized is I would rather spend money on a high end foriegn import that is second hand, then buy a brand new domestic. The difference in quality and drivability is really out of this world.

I prefer used as well. I traded in my Altima for a ful loaded Murano, its an '04 but looks brand new. Was a lease rtn also the guy kept good care of it and low km's. So far its been great to me. I wanted a Lexus or X5, I think next one may be in a year or two.

Yah I guess you will have to get the one with the option for a 3rd row seat now eh? :)

My buddy just got a silver Murano, looks identical to the LExus or Infiniti SUV the same model look. Smart choice man

Luxury car with a single dealership aren't something I will do again. I will leave that to the cool people from here on in. Off lease Camry's and Civics from here on in for me.

My brother likes to tease me and call it BMtroubleyou, suggesting that I always need to fix my car.

When I was looking for my truck, I looked at new and used. The new cost more but I got a warrenty and low rates, the used were cheaper but might have cost more over the long run.
I am happy with when I bought new this time but I doubt I will ever do it again, paid 42 and its worth like 33k 6 months later.

if you buy a quality vehicle like a Honda for example, you don't really ever have to worry about warranty.

Well, if I was after a sedan or a shitty truck, sure, but I needed a half-ton which Honda does not make. I looked at the Tundra by toyota also but they just cut corners on the interior.
