A porn star in training.
From a coach...
Tim: "Coach, what is your advice for staying mentally focused and fresh while you workout."
Me: "What??!!" I was playing a game on my computer and was trying to ignore him.
Tim: Repeats question.
Me: "Well do you really want my honest opinion?"
Tim: "Yep"
Me: "Your workout is a piece of shit. I don't even know what you are doing but I see you doing it and it's shitty. You go to failure on every lift, tempo every rep, and you do the same damn thing everyone workout. No wonder your mentally ****ed right now."
Tim: "I just asked what I could do for my mental state."
Me: "And I just answered it. You need to change up your workout. What workout are you doing anyways?"
Tim: "The California experiment."
Me: "What??"
Tim: "The California experiment."
Me: "What the **** is that?"
Tim: "Something I found online. I can't believe you never heard of it. It's something they started back in the 70's. It's pretty popular.What they have you do is take it to the max(failure) every set so you get maximal recovery"
Me: "Yeah and obviously really effective. If you found it online it has to work. What were you doing before this."
Tim: "Well, I was doing the Abercrombie and Fitch workout. I really want to look like Mario Lopez."
Me: "Wow. Did you really just say that?"
Tim: "Yeah, he has a great body and a really great smile."
Me: "Don't ever say that in my presence again."
Tim: "Well, what I'm trying to do is get into a porno." (dead serious)
Me: "WHAT??"
Tim: "I'm trying to get into the porn industry. I want to be a porn star."
Me: "How in the hell do you expect to accomplish this?"
Tim: "Craig's List."
At this point I just lost it. He was being dead serious and had told others this as well. This made my month. His training is so horrible but I will give him this, he is creepy enough to look like a porn star.
