Hey guys, I'm 16, 170 pounds 5'11"
Just picked up a bag of pvl mutant mass gainer. My goal weight is 200 pounds.
I can easily pack on weight, used to be 185. Since it's summer I've lost a lot of pounds from just biking and playing sports. My only questions are: when should I take pvl mutant mass? should I take something before workout/ or after? An estimate on how many calories I should be taking? Carbs? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks :bch

After your workout and before bed.
I don't know what you are doing so I can't tell you how many carbs or calories you should be taking.
But if you want me to guess, my answer is more. More carbs and more calories.

IF ITS YOUR FIRST TIME USING WEIGHT GAINER START OFF SLOW MAYBE 2 SCOOPS INSTEAD OF 4 IN ONE SHAKE. i HAD ALOT OF TROUBLE DIGESTING THIS STUFF, IT WOULD COME OUT LOOKING THE SAME AS IT WENT IN.

Good call Big D
Drink it during your workout and in between breakfast and lunch.

i tell all my young customers to use 2 scoops twice a day instead of the 4 it recommends. as BIGD said, its just too much to digest properly.
i also tell them to use it after your workout and before bed.

I am working out 4 times a week with weights every other day, and cardio and abs the odd days. I've heard to take it when I get up, before workout, after workout and before bed. What are the actual prime times to use this supplement for highest effectiveness?
Also, should I be taking any other supplements to increase my muscle mass faster and greater?

Doing that much cardio it would seem counter productive to me for you to be taking a weight gainer.
you need to decide what it is that you want to do. Most "weight gainers" are are l;oaded with sugars and empty calories. great to put on total mass, but if you are going to do cardio, you're wasting your time and money.
to gain weight, you need to take in more calories than you are burning.
Now, do you want to get puffy and chubby? If yes, take a weight gainer and don't do cardio.
If you want to build muscle, take in in good quality protein, eat your meals spread evenly throughout the day (7 meals) and do minimal cardio (no more than a 20 min brisk walk after your weights). Eat quality food and lots of it. Don't waste money on gimmik weight gainers, McDonalds, KFC or anything like that. Diet and weights will build muscle...weight gainers will just make you fat and broke.

I`d say skip the gainers also. Way too much sugar. It`s time companies pull the plug on this one. One cup of oats with 2 scoops of protein powder and a pice of fruit will give you roughly the same macro ratio but much, much better quality ingredients.

I need to bulk up fast, I will be doing less cardio now on. So will this product suit my needs?

If you want to over pay for something you can make yourself that has better ingredients than this gainer, go for it...
You`re not seing this right. The gainer will have about 80 grams of carbs and 30 grams of protein with 9 grams of fat. I`m suggesting something that`s better for you similar amount of cals, acutally has more protein. The best thing about making your own is you can change the formula as you grow.
Trust me, only uninformed newbs ask about gainers. They`re crap dude. Don`t be a sucker and buy this shit.

Since you have the gainer now Jacob, go out and buy some protein powder and mix 1:1 in your shake (1 scope of protein, w/1 scoop of weight gain). This will help the horrible carb/protein ratio of most gainers. Most are in the 3:1 carb to protein ratio - I'm not familiar with the gainer you have so I can't comment to the exact ratio this will give you. In the future if you purchase weight gain products again, read the label and only purchase the product with approximately a 1.5:1 carb/protein ratio - that's about the best it'll get & very few with this, so you got to shop around.
As for timing, definitely 1 shake post workout.
And eat lots of real food.
I also hope you're squatting, deadlifting and overhead pressing.
