Fedor cant really expect to remain undefeated with the sparse fight and meager opponent schedule he's been keeping. he is getting old to boot, the pissing contest between him and Dana has hampered MMA history. maybe this loss will shake things up a bit. at any rate, i don't see werdum winning the rematch (not that i saw him winning the first match either though, lol).

He wanted to maintain an aura of invincibility. That is why he wouldn't sign with Dana. And he got involved with a stupid manager.Anybody remember when boxing used to be popular?Don King fixed that.He could have taken the high road. What a waste.

When he beats Werdum in the rematch he has Overeem eagerly awaiting...is there any testing going on over there?

Or maybe he doesn't like anal sex.

Shane Carwin is only guaranteed 40k, and 40k more if he wins.
If anything, I'd say Fedor's management has Fedor's best interest in mind.

Strikefarce.Overeem is 50 lbs heavier these days.Fedor's manager calls Overeem a "steroid bully".Out of the frying pan and into the fire,eh?

If Carwin wins that will certainly improve. How much did Fedor get for this fight?

the fights are sanctioned in the US, of course they test:)

$400,000 Fedor, $100,000 Werdum.

So how is Overeem 50 lbs heavier and why is Fedor's manager convinced he is using?Another loss and Fedor won't see that kind of cash.

"how is overeem 50lbs heavier" ....is that a real question?

why is fedor's manager convinced he is using? probably the same reason you and the rest of us are.

"another loss and fedor wont see that kind of cash"....on that note, i'm predicting snow this winter;)

i am assuming overeem's team knows how to beat a banned substance test. just as many athlete's, in many sports do world wide. UFC's pittbull alves doesn't look very natural to me and they 'test'. oddly, many fighters that get busted using gear don't even look jacked.

probably gets a % share of the ppv buys since he's in the number 1 fight
on the card..

Not in the UFC.

Not even allowed to control what sponsors he has, thats why Brock drinking the "wrong" beer after a fight was a big deal.

40k for a guy who's 12-0, and no one making it past the first round.... In a fight that could potentially sell a million buys @ $50 a pop........ Thats the definition of being exploited.

I'm kinda curious where it started if all he's getting is 40k to fight for the championship. Even if he doubles it, he's got to fight 4x a year to make a decent career.... He has trainers taking a %%%, training partners, and the fact that he's 35 YO in a young mans game.
Dana White is laughing all the way to the bank.
Time for a fighters union.

Mayweather gets 30 million, these guys won't make that in their whole career.

I like Fedor, but he's way too stubborn. Why would you play into Werdum's ground game?

Fedor needed to knock him down, then let him get back up. And keep rocking him. It's not like Werdum is very likely to hurt Fedor on the feet.

Kind of like Frank Mir did to Nogueira. Or Anderson Silva vs Maia (without the clowning around).

But whatever, I'm sure his trainers know better than me.

A few fighters are getting a lot more.Mayweather doesn't represent what so many other fighters receive. It does seem like small money.

$400,000 Fedor, $100,000 Werdum.

What exactly are "in-house" drug tests? Is this exactly what the UFC employs?Any chance of these being fiddled with?

i'm not sure on either count to be honest. it would be nice to know, you've piqued my interest. i suspect any test could be fiddled with.

Its all kinda relative.... I know guys who fight for $1000 for 4 rounds, buts its a small show where the promoter is only getting the gate for what little he makes... Nobodys getting rich.

The UFC is making enough to cover expenses on the gate..... and then selling 1 million buys @ $50...... and then paying its main event guy 40k?
Thats being exploited.

Fighting is the dirtiest business on earth.. besides maybe drugs lol.
I'd just like to see the best MMA guys make what every other athlete, in a sport that generates mega bucks, get a fair share.

I guarantee you Don King is jelous of what Dana White is bringing in.... Dana can get away with paying Brock 400k........

i am hoping it puts Fedor in a position where he has to really prove himself, against a worthy opponent. this could be sweet for the fans as well.
