Hoping to take over a small personal training studio shortly. it will be renamed and re-branded. this is a studio where trainers can pay a fee to bring clients as well as a place clients can come to receive personal training from a roster of trainers.

beyond personal training there will be some circuit training/bootcamps/team sport training, but no memberships or health club type services.

please note this is NOT a bodybuilding gym or a fitness club. it is a semi-exclusive high end facility where the average client is middle aged and wealthy.

any suggestions for names would be greatly appreciated!

a name that jumps out at you would be great, but we feel it is somewhat important the name explains what the business is. the current name and model is quite ambiguous and confusing so we want to get away from that

thanks!

I know a guy who opened a gym dedicated just to having clients be trained by a trainer. Sadly it didn`t work out. I hope it goes well for you fathead.

I`ll try to think of a name. Just don`t include fathead in it, lol...

best names usually use alliteration, rhyming, and describe the benefit..

ie. double your dating.. alliteration and benefit.
6 Minute Abs.. benefit, plus nice hook
coca cola.. alliteration and rhyming..
fitness in minutes ... rhyming and benefit

studeo 55 is an exclusive fitness club in Vancouver. The name suggests nothing health or fitness but does very well.

Marketing and branding is about perception. Name which describes what the product/service is about really doesn't matter. What is a microsoft? What is a blackberry? What is an Ipod?

SYNERGY? It implies a certain training style and client/trainer relationship.

these are good guys. keep em coming

nate- this is located on a busy street and a lot of the draw/marketing we hope to generate is through traffic. the current name (i wont mention) isnt only ambiguous, its misleading/confusing.

it doesnt have to be called "get fit" or anything like that, but having a tagline like studio or training etc would help out (i think at least).

just naming it "synergy." the end.... wouldnt be as effective (again in my view) as synergy fitness or studios or training

i dont like using just 'studio'... for people who arent versed in fitness they wont associate it with personal training... i like physique's name.
also you might want to think about what names will be 'hits' for online database searches through google...etc
the cougars will prob type in "kitsilano or vancouver personal trainers"

I have to slightly disagree... naming a product is part of the marketing.. and with small business' I feel that's important...

this isn't a massive company that can spend millions on "branding"...

see this with alot of books.. ie. "skinny bitch" took off fast... plus plays off irrational fears of women, ie. will he cheat with the skinny bitch at the office.. but that's another story...

but that's just my opinion...

to the poster.. if this was my studio.. i'd be taking the one thing that you can set yourself apart from competition.. ie. unique sales position.. and market the hell out of it... Off top of my head something along lines of having individual trainers, with different specialities, leading to more personalized choices.. rahter than cookie cutter programs, designed to keep insurance companies happy... giving you better results, quicker, faster, customized to you etc...
