weres JohnnyO ?? hahah

I think your fine drinking them man, i've been drinking egg whites in a carton for years also, its pretty much 4 of my meals out of the day. so I would be tiny if i wasnt absorbing anything.

I had the same thought about whole eggs raw but apparently, you can drink them too.

I heard you only get a portion of the protein if you don't cook them, I'm sure if it was in this forum or bodybuilding.com but I was kinda shocked to see that.

It works for some, for others not... My stomach does not agree with it. I tried it again 2 summers ago and it gave me gas that lasted all day. Was farting every 30 seconds or so and it stank beyond belief.

Copied from an old post----You can definitely get biotin deficiency from eating raw egg whites my friend. There is a glycoprotein called avidan in the egg white that latches on to the biotin so your body can't absorb it. That is why cooking the whites are good if you are not eating the yolk. I have never heard of this occuring in someone who ate the yolk with white though. The raw whites also contain trypsin inhibitors which make it harder for your body to digest protein...

I would imagine tossing in a whole egg or two would help, preferably free range eggs.

I prefer swallowing a carton of eggs than taking time to cook/wash the plate

The yolks contain the biotin and help processing the whites as you mentioned, so yes it helps...Also if they are in cartons they have been pasteurized so they are good to go as they are heated and breakdown the avidan in the process...Dont eat the whites out of the shell as you will not process them properly and you can get food poisoning like i did and end up in hell....
cartons, good to go...
